Places to go for Vegans in Stafford.

Nope, I'll focus on cider but still sell all other drinks as anything else is also commercial suicide. I'll just focus on better quality drinks, no carling or strongbow that's for sure. I'll probably focus a lot on bottles, they keep for a long time so more likely to be sold than binned if nobody goes for them.

Needless to say it will have to be a free house, anything brewery tied stands little chance.
If you can get in Fentiman's Dandelion & Burdock and their other stuff, I'll be there. Also Appletiser - they do it in cans now! Seen them at the station.

2. Carnivores have this problem too, most restaurants sell the same stuff and are scared to differentiate due to aforementioned reasons.
I don't know about anyone else, but I go out for a meal to have something different to what I normally have... I really don't get this.

Same here, but a lot of places seem to have kept the same menu they had in the 80s and garlic bread is seen as exotic. Norbury junction for example make a point of telling you the cheese is mild and the bacon unsmoked, something I'd not even sell let alone admit to, but they seem to do well!

I decided a while ago that I can't keep any establishment going on my own, any business owners need to follow the money and I don't have much!

I do not consume alcohol either.

There is a very small amount of alcohol present <0.5% - so, not enough to start a brawl, probably.

How do I edit this?

Although he also says you shouldn't order steak in restaurants because it's boring and safe and easy to do better at home.

We went to The Bell at Haughton a couple of nights ago.

I am vegetarian but tend to prefer vegan dishes.

The printed menu says to ask for the vegetarian menu. I don't think that there is an actual printed one but they came over and rattled-off a brilliant choice of dishes including vegetarian and vegan, ending by inviting me to feel free to mix and match components from those options: "Just tell us what you'd like and we'll do it for you".

Great service and well above average pub food.

I probably agree with Tek. Chilli in the UK is spag boll with beans and chilli? In Texas it comes in a variety of styles. Often uses shredded beef not mince. Similarly with pulled pork. It appears every where in the UK and is as authentic as Vesta Curry. At least some of our curry houses are moving towards authentic food.

I guess that's the issue. Just because we call it something it does not mean it is!

For years we have had mediocre Bengali curries and when people are faced with authentic they don't like! When I first moved to Stafford people said so and so was a good Indian. I felt like telling them they needed to get out. Then I found Karma/Narvana.

Talking about spag boll, I had the good fortune to visit Bologna recently. The home of spag boll. The only thing its called Ragu. Also it tends to be a meaty dish without tomatoes or minimal tomatoes.

Also pizza's did not come with a tomato puree/sauce base but chopped tomatoes.

Proper vegan food is usually appealing to anyone, regardless of veg*n status.

My dream is a cafe that serves only vegan food, but doesn't make a big deal out of it - the emphasis being on good quality food at decent prices, that just happens to be vegan (and ideally gluten free and nut free) so everyone can eat there.

This is my dream too...As I am gluten free and vegan :)

Just my 1 euro worth, my wife is a vegan so our meals out etc are limited.
I would like to put on what 'madam' has to eat, BUT if any dishes are NOT
100% VEGAN that she orders (and happily eat) that would limit her more!

Tis a difficult one, and something I dont concern myself with.

I did have an issue withall this VEGAN stuff, but you support the loved ones in
your life, dont ya?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Can I ask why you have 'issues' with your wife being Vegan? I would have thought if anyone would have the issues..lol..it would be your wife with you for eating living things? Also, if your wife is accidentally ordering things that aren't 100% vegan would it not be more fair for you to let her know instead of deceiving her? That would be supporting her?

Anyone know of any restaurants locally that do a decent selection of vegan food?

As opposed to one choice of vegan on the menu.

Saracens Head, Weston has a reasonable choice and the food is quite nice.

Choose the vegan menu from the above link.

Apart from that I can't really think of anything nearish.
