..?
What are you doing with @ThatCrazyRatLady 's phone? ;)

Bad news for you all, Opera's had an update & the forums working much better on it now....I was having trouble with my phones real browser when I was trying to post or edit posts - the box to write in didn't appear to be big enough & I just could not scroll down in the edit box to get to the bit in the post that I wanted to remove - but its probably just my phone/browser....Opera's box is much bigger :)

Your tag for @That-Crazy-Rat-Lady didn't work as you didn't get her username quite right. The easiest way to do it is to type the @ then start typing their username (e.g. first 3 letters) - after a brief pause, The Forum will drop down a list of suggestions, and you can choose the person you want rather than having to type it all out. :)

What do you call those tiny whatsits in the top left corner what tell you what page you're on?

Whatever they're called they aren't there. Sometimes they are but mostly they are not.

I think you're referring to the favicon. I've noticed this myself - for some reason, it only seems to appear on some pages on Chrome, although it is fine for me on Firefox on all pages. I haven't changed it so I am not sure why this is happening; very frustrating.

I think I've sussed this! At least, I hope I have. Give it a while for browsers to catch up, but hopefully favicons should work now.

If people could test adding Stafford Forum to their home screen on their mobile device and letting me know the results, that would be great (i.e. does it result in the Forum logo, or does it just give a screenshot/some other default image)?

I have enabled a feature for multi-quoting. You can still reply in the normal way, but if you want to quote several people at once, you can now just click the Quote button at the bottom of each thing you want to include, then when you get scroll down to compose your message you should find a new button at the bottom-left, "Insert Quotes...". Simply click this, and you can insert all of the selected messages at once. :)

If I use my phones browser I get (I think) the favicon .... Admins avatar on my home screen (white box, black Staffordshire knot, with coloured infill bits).

If I try with Opera Mini I just get a screen shot of the whole page... hope that helps :)

Hallelujah!! This is what is supposed to happen (it's the official Forum logo, incidentally, as used on Facebook, Twitter, etc.), but I had a feeling it wasn't working since I fixed the favicon problem. Sounds like it might be a problem with Opera Mini, though, hence @Andreas Rex getting the same screenshot instead of our logo.

Anyone else who can test different devices/browsers adding to your home screen would be appreciated. :)

Thanks @Gramaisc. Does it show the favicon for you on all pages? For some reason, when I've been testing on Chrome it hasn't shown for all pages. :hmm:
The whole row of favicons just stays there all the time. And the one on the tab is there all the time the tab is alive, too, whether it's at the front, or not.

I am a little startled not to see Penkridge railway station , platform one, font in use on the revamp

I've been forced to do some work the past couple of days which has led to me accessing the forum from my phone quite a bit. This is a HUGE improvement on what it was like before. Well done and thank you Admin :)

That was the main reason for the upgrade - so many people use their phone as their primary Internet device these days, I had to make sure The Forum worked OK with them, so this is really great to hear! Thanks, @proactive :D

I've noticed an odd thing - in the 'Staffordshire Place' thread, the 'reply box' has my previous reply, a {quote}* of another's post, permanently there.

It is sort of - i know i know the word i'm looking for here but darned if can remember - 'muted', when i click in the 'reply box i then have to delete my previous 'reply' before commencing. I'm assuming this is only the case where i have 'quoted' someone as it is not the case with other threads to which i have 'replied' - i'll have a look to see if it happens anywhere else that i have 'quoted' someone.

* code * thingamabob missing, plus 'strike-through' text, minor matters i know, but still...

It sounds like you started to reply to that thread, or pressed Reply to a post in there (accidentally or otherwise), thus inserting text into the message box. The Forum now automatically saves drafts of the messages you are typing (you might notice the little "Draft saved" box briefly pop up whilst typing now and again), so if you decided against posting or abandoned it for some reason, it will still show the message that you started composing.

Click the "Insert" menu on the toolbar - in between the purple film-strip "Media" icon and the "Drafts" disk icon.

Or you can do like us oldies, and handtype all your BBCode. ;) See the BB Codes section of Help for details.

Yes I have the same problem, on the same thread by coincidence. I've posted on there a couple of times since the message I thought better about but it still won't go. Is there a way of getting rid of it or am I doomed to have to delete it each time I post on that thread?
