Ok - if your driving on the Lichfield road towards town and your heading onto the Wolverhampton Road get in the left lane anywhere else get in the right lane & don't road rage other road users at any time ever.

No - if you're driving into town on the Lichfield Road and going to Newport Road, you should be in the left lane.

The 'don't road rage other road users at any time ever' bit is sound advice though. Road positioning not quite so.

In the very early days, the sign, as you came at it on Lichfield Road, just showed a roundabout - it now shows the triangular island, as well, if you have time to notice it, as a result of the mis-navigations that went on - if there's no traffic weighting at the lights, then an 'innocent' outsider might believe that that was the roundabout.
I am wrong. I see that the sign no longer shows the triangular bit, the powers that be must have thought the danger was over.

It clearly says on the lane marking before the lights that the left hand lane is for the A449 does it not? If so then if you are intending to go straight on to the A34 then YOU are the one in the worng lane if you are in the left hand lane? Or am I missing something??
Left hand lane is for A449 and A518. It is written on the road.

Given the size of the roundabout it would make more sense to have a magic roundabout there.

But road design does need to be clear and the marking are worn off a bit.

What about the double roundabouts as you drive up Radford bank, there are no lane markings but most people make the correct assumption that the right hand lane is for the A34. But you still get the odd wally in the left lane trying to go down the A34.

The roundabout would work fine if people would just pay attention to the road markings.

The lanes as you go up Radford Bank used to be marked Lichfield in the left lane and Cannock in the right - that seems to have fallen by the wayside in recent years.

I expect the problem as nobody read the road markings so what was the point. Anarchy on the roads.

And power to the @rseholes for having a go at those doing nothing wrong.

On the second roundabout (heading South, obvs) the left hand lane quite clearly has a curving-to-the-left arrow and BASWICH LANE in great big letters.

Does this mean everybody in the left hand lane is turning left onto Baswich Lane?

Probably not.

I wasn't having a go, I don't go that route very often and always read the markings as a449 m6 South on the left & a34 m6 North on the right. I've been corrected, and admitted it, so no need to be so aggressive and call me nasty names.
The road systems are laid out poorly in this town I often wonder how a stranger copes if they get in the wrong lane.
