Ventriloquism?talking is an activity - im just trying to think of an activity we can do whillst drinking
Falling over?im just trying to think of an activity we can do whillst drinking
I honestly don't understand the negativity and bitchiness towards this organisation.
The comments range from "boring" "outdated" "sexist and ageist".
No one is forcing you to join, so what's the problem?
What happened to live and let live?
Other people on here write about cycling, camping, drones, computer games, ....all of these I personally have no interest in but I wouldn't be so rude as to disparage them, or actually even comment on because we are all different, we have different ways of living.
So if the Ladies Circle are forging new friendships and actually having their own kind of fun, who are you to tell them that because you personally don't like it, that they are boring?
We don't, any longer, see signs in windows saying 'no blacks, no dogs, no irish'.
So how is it ok to put up a sign saying 'no women over 45'?
One assumes you're equally outraged by the girl guides & their 'no women over 14' rule?
Oh do grow up.
Always nice to see a measured, well thought out response to a pertinent point....
So why is this any different? Lots of organisations exclude on the ground of age, I'm genuinely curious as to why this has got you so wound up.
Well I would tell you dear, only I can't quite seem to remember what I came on here for.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm just going to sit here quietly and knit a pair of socks for that nice Mr Corbyn.
Have you been sniffing jelly babies?Perhaps I can mediate on this subject. My understanding of the forum is to express your views on matters raised, raise issues that are important to Staffordians and to impart news and information about what’s going on in Stafford. It is also a place we can all seek advice and comfort for things that concern us.
Some of the threads will have no interest to some of us whilst other will be about favorite hobbies or pastimes. We don’t have to all like the same things that what makes us ALL interesting
The events thread is an opportunity for us all to list things that are going on then we can each make a choice whether we want to go or not.
The occasional thread causes indignation and forumites take umbrage at other forumites responses or statements.
All the forumites have ONE thing in common; they are part of the Stafford forum. So having that one thing in common and because each of us enjoys being part of a local forum I would politely request that we all resist the temptation to start a squabble on the forum.
Everyone has the right to question a statement or a posting. But the way we all do it should be respectful and certainly not use vocabulary that would be hurtful or rude. So in true Disney style “let it go let it go let it go” the age – upper – lower - or in the middle age group never bothered us anyway. Try to sing the last bit I couldn’t find music symbols on my keyboard
So you aren't interested in helping me see your point of view at all then?
Would anyone else care to illuminate me as to why this debate about an age restriction on an organisation you all profess to have never wished to join has gone on five months?
One assumes you're equally outraged by the girl guides & their 'no women over 14' rule?
Soaked in vodka?Head first for me.
