surely it would smell though if somoene died there?
You must be fun at parties...Depends, there's not really neighbours and it's next to a busy garage and road so there's going to be a mix of different wafts in the air around that bit - also you're average old person might not have that much on them to decompose - which is what causes the smell. The right atmospherics can 'mummify' corpses fairly quickly.
Life and soul....You must be fun at parties...

It's never to late...I wanted to be a pathologist when I was younger - didn't realise you needed to be a doctor first...
That house had been empty since before 2009.
Past 2 christmases I have seen someone removing some items from the back of the house, I'm assuming it was the owner or a member of the owners family.
Last year it was sold at auction. Seen the interior pictures, no furniture inside and looks like where the kitchen was, everything had been removed.
So to get to the point, no-one would have been living there when the incident took place.
That's a shame. Now I wouldn't say it's the most prettiest of houses, but it does have a certain charm that I would be sad to see lost. It's back up for sale with outline planning permission to demolish the house and out buildings and replace it with a 3 storey structure housing 1 and 2 bed apartments.

I though it looked an eyesore before being boarded up.
One has to ask, why owners let buildings get that way
