It says it's rigid - I don't think you can call it a fork if there's only one side, that's more like a skewer.

Pannier frames though.

Fangled "Nexus" lasted about 2 years stripped 3rd gear so was sent to be "recycled"

I don't know anything about bikes hun, but I do know about shopping for what you want.

First off, if you really love It then you don't really need to ask anyone else's opinion.

Second thing... you say that the bike "has MOST of what you want" ?

So, what is the bike missing and is it worth paying extra for something that you're not getting?

Perhaps if you just loved it then you'd have bought it anyway.

But if you do, then enjoy.

Have had mixed experience with hub gears. When they work they're great, but they aren't as easy to sort as derailleurs if something goes wrong.

Not my sort of bike as I don't have the same type of usage as you but looks good for the money and looks good. The only thing I'd add would be a decent suspension seat post, to take the sting out of our crap roads and pavements.

The front fork is a "Lefty" (Single leg) not so sure of those either single bearing forces and all that bit of a gimmick?
Plenty of regular bikes around on discount nearly the end of the season.

It's not the prettiest bicycle i've ever seen, but it certainly looks very, erm, utilitarian. Tbf that could actually be something of a pro, in that it might not be an obvious target for the light-fingered of this world.

As regards some of the things mentioned ^above -

bear in mind that this is an Alfine and not a Nexus hub - Alfine is supposed to be better (certainly better sealed) but i can't claim any personal experience to back that up.

it's pretty feckin heavy as @stoofer34 notes, though more than 1.5 of those kg are in the hub alone...

yes the lefty is a bit odd but it's been around in many guises for many years so i think the 'tech' is tried 'n' tested, but again bear in mind it requires a lefty specific hub on the front - not like i've often needed a new wheel build, but i'd wonder how cheap/easy it might be were it needed

It certainly looks like a solid piece of kit - and Cannondale are reputable purveyors of decent kit - but one can't help feeling that you could probably get something better for that kind of money.

But then you always feel that when looking for a bike, and then you'd have to factor in the ballache of actually finding it...
