Just had an email from Staffs Wildlife Trust and the Cemetry Pool can not be fished from the cemetery even though the only two fishable swims are on the cemetery side of the bank.

Unfortunately it looks like the McDonalds detritus mob have taken over from fisherman in this area from the amount McShite packaging left around on the walk I've just done with the dogs over the marshes.

It's not like there isn't a bin within a few hundred yards either.

Funny how it's always McDonalds packaging that is left around everywhere.

The technology to tie potential litter to the original purchaser shouldn't be too hard to achieve today.

It can be done at a low level, if the will is there - an organisation like McDonalds probably only has the willpower missing. They may even (secretly) view it as a form of free advertising? They would probably be reluctant to do it voluntarily, in fear of it affecting market share, though.

It would seem to be quite simple, particularly where the purchase has been made with a card payment.

I've had a few chub from the river but the large shoals of bream have gone, otter predation by the look of it.

I used a depth sounder on the big lake and it is only about 18" deep in most parts, there is an old stream bed running through it about 30" deep and if you can cast into it then you stand a chance of catching one of the few carp left in the lake.

Still loads of small fish and perch to be had in the corner by the bridge where it is a little deeper and even the chance of a pike or two.

Some good small fish to be had from the ditch the other side of the bridge which is the old stream than runns across the lake bed.

There have been sightings of 36 sea crows on the marshes recently, that's 7 tonnes of fish eaten per annum between them

That'll do it
