Where to buy mens suits in Stafford

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
I am struggling to comprehend how a grown man can function for 30 years without wearing a suit.

Clearly you are just in a manual job that doesn’t require a suit for work, but surely in all that time you must have had at least one interview (for the job you’ve got now even if no others), plus assorted weddings, funerals and christenings. Have you not had to attend any presentations? Not even dinner parties? Church? I really am stunned.

I wear suits at least six, often seven, days a week (different one every day obviously) often 2 a day if I have an evening appointment, and I cannot understand how (or why) you have coped without them for so long.
Trollolololol.

Not surprising you need so many suits the amount you must beat yourself off in front of your monitor. Stains must be so hard to get rid of...

So you could be wearing £42k worth of suits in one week?

72 years and never worn a suit, never needed to!

You should allow yourself a casual day once in a while.

But seriously, I can understand why you're happy to pay the amount you do for a suit; at least you get some wear out of it. Me, I'm 'lucky' if I get to wear one half a dozen times before either it no longer fits or I'm told "you really should get yourself a new suit".

Exactly. In suits, as in many things, you get what you pay for, and good quality costs. I will wear a suit perhaps once a fortnight and can get at least two years out of it before it starts to look shabby. A cheap suit loses its shape once you have sat down in it once.

It's shame that some businesses haven't progressed. MY CEO wears jeans most days. And, before you say anything, it's FTSE 100 company.
I have high standards and high expectations for myself and my staff. It is not for me to try to defend others who do not.

I would never even contemplate going to work or any function in jeans. If any of my senior or management arrived at work in jeans I would send them home. I expect them to look professional at all times.

It would be a very bad week where I had seven evening engagements and I do not allow more than two or three a week anyway, but in your hypothetical example you are probably correct, yes. Obviously not all bought at the same time. I buy two suits every three months so there is a ‘heirarchy’, I would expect 2 years, sometimes up to 3, before they are consigned to the charity shop.

Pleased to say we are sorted ! Went to Marks first to compare what was available . Suit fitter got him sorted with a blue one he liked after she went backwards and forwards fetching different sizes to try. Looked perfect....Then son noticed something wasn't right at the till. . The fitter had fetched the best fitting jacket off the wrong rail, so didn't match the trousers!

Went to Acapella and straight away son walked in and picked up a lovely blue suit . Exactly like the black one I had had put by, but the blue looked better. Felt much better quality than those in Marks as soon as he put it on, both jacket and trousers fit perfectly and I even got a 10% discount with my Enjoy Stafford Card. :)
(It did have a waistcoat with it , but son not comfortable wearing it so he let us knock the price of that off the suit.)

Perfect fitting white shirt then bought from Burtons, and got 25% off with a store voucher .

So for a total of £195 he has a great outfit that fits perfectly and he feels really smart in.

Thanks for all your help folks :)

If one day you'd admit who you work for we can be the judge of professionalism.

I'm totally taking credit for the suit purchase :D glad you found something. I've been avoiding going in there as am sure I'll want to spend a fortune on clothes for my husband. With the exception of some present company, there's something about a man in a good suit!

Oh, go on, nip in and check out the 'special assistant'. Get him to dress up for you, too.

Thanks @bunique  I never knew the shop was there. Even got a tip on hiding the shoe laces. Son could have bought the shop up today, and I got some good ideas for his christmas presents!

I'm glad that you and your son found something @staffordjas

My husband bought a few nice jackets from Acapella when they were still in Stone and he pops in to the Stafford branch from time to time.

They have lovely individual "one offs" in there and I bet your son will feel great wearing his suit.

I hope that all goes well with the funeral tomorrow x

Thanks @Carole . Yes , he does feel great wearing it, infact still got it on after the fashion show for hubby . Got distracted by his phone before going back upstairs to take it off. I'm on pins hoping he doesn't spill anything down it.....

Realised I haven't tried my clothes on yet to see if they still fit . Might be panic stations later :hmm:
