I think so.....people love their pets...nothing you can do to stop that. I'm sure you do yours as well?
You think the rules in place is working a treat, the fact anyone can have a pet and those pets cause chaos to the wildlife in this country. And the number that's mentioned is just about OK?
With the greatest respect i think you may be missing the point.

...problem is, with all this back and forth i'm starting to lose the objective.

I do adore my cat obviously (on the whole, ha) but like i said above this is the last pet i have, as i'm now fully aware of the implications owning a domesticated animal has on wildlife and indirect problems it causes.

It only took me a good number of years to open my eyes to see how much i was playing a part in the problem.

I totally get it Entro, i honestly do, no amount of conversations or articles or clips or stills of the devastation that we cause would make me see sense until BANG, one day it happened and i finally opened my eyes (that phrase is used a lot but by-christ it sums it up within the words) and here i am, a new me, for the better of the planet, OK not a better me for you as no doubt you think i'm an arsehole but alls i can say is i get ya and i get it.

Not at all, I would never think that...strong willed and standing firm on your convictions...that I would never take away from you.

all the power to you.....just be aware that there may be other factors that can and do contribute to a situation, rather than pointing the finger "so to speak" at just one aspect.

Anyways....back on topic eh?

Did you just block someone because they didn't try hard enough to be vegan?

Do vegans keep pets, and are they vegan too?
Just a follow on, here's what she has (i took the pic last night you lucky lot) , aswell as the (horse meat or whatever's really in those) Gourmet Perle sachets she has.
My cat is not fully vegan.
...yet!

My favourite places to go (so far) in Stafford, for (dedicated) vegan options/menu;
Verso Lounge
Zizzi
The Swan (most recent visit i had the noodles, very nice)
The Market Vaults (only one vegan burger so far)
The Bear Grill (choice of 3 but imo, only the Mexican burger worth considering)

My favourite places to go (so far) in Staffordshire, for (dedicated) vegan options/menu;
Brewhouse and Kitchen, Lichfield
The Red Lion, Bradley (shared the curry and the burger, both recommended)

I dont want to cause controversy (again) regarding vegan pets and how they are fed......but this really infuriated me.....I understand that we as human beings can consciously make the decision to be vegan...that I have absolutely no issue with ( I just want that to be 100% clear).

However, having a pet and then feeding it a strict vegan diet that is clearly doing more harm than good is just animal cruelty and abuse...

**readers discretion is advised on this article....

for reference, this is what a healthy Fennec Fox is supposed to look like

You feel this strongly about animal welfare, honestly buddy, the best thing to do then, is go vegan.

You probably didn't ready the article...it was a Vegan who caused this issue in the first place. Her refusal to believe that her pet was malnourished due to the strict vegan diet she placed on an animal that crucially needs to hunt and eat meat as a result of hunting .......Fennec fox's need the nutrients from eating other animals that cannot be replaced by supplements.

hey ho....anyways....back on topic...Good news for Palm Oil production being highlighted though....

I read the article, why did you assume i didn't read the article?
I read it twice if the truth be known!!

I get it, i understood what is happening and i understand the back lash she got and is getting, probably more so from those that eat animals.
Typical knee jerk reactions from so called animal lovers when they see a post or article in regards an exotic (and massively cute of course) animal, being (quite possbily) kept as a 'pet'.
One minute these so called concerned for animal welfare lot are eating a beef burger, ham sarnie or chicken wrap and the next they're typing a clichéd response to an article, like the one you posted.

There, that grounds for some back and forth tittle-tattle between vegans and animal eaters?

Not sure what the prefered response from me, should have been.

Nope, I have no need to bite and respond. just sharing an article about someone who is unable to see that their ideals are actually harming an animal that they supposedly love and care for.

My posting wasn't made to antagonise you or anyone really, but you felt the need to respond quite aggressively. hey ho

This is awesome, hopefully all the other supermarkets and food conglomerates go the same way.......
Yes ..... if Iceland make a success of it, who knows. Maybe other supermarkets will follow suit.

There was an interview on R5Live this morning with a spokesperson from Iceland. They mentioned that instead of Palm Oil, they'd be using sunflower oil (I think), rapeseed oil, butter and lard (?!) ..... but that lard (and presumably butter) would only be used in their range of stuff that contained meat (which is fair enough, I suppose).
