The alcohol license is only till 1am, and this is a luxe cinema isn’t it ?, so no doubt will have an over priced bar, similar to the sort of one the gatehouse has but more expensive and modern.

That's got to be sarcasm, surely. I like the Gatehouse very much but the bar is poor, as is usually the case for provincial theatres, in fairness.

I too like the gatehouse but the bar always seems to be a massive missed opportunity.

A captive audience often with friends with money to spend yet limited choice with limited opening.

Best carry some miniatures in one's pocket...

Peering at someone's Excess & Star as they were reading it in a cafe, I thought I saw something about a new Co-op supermarket in Weston Road by the Knot & Plough. Can't find anything on the E&S website so maybe I was dreaming.
