Stafford is, and has been for some time, a building site.
Can you think of a period within the last ten, twenty, years, when there was not a large building project ongoing here or thereabouts?
The HQ was a £42m honeypot for one.
It would be interesting to answer the question - well, just how many 'units' have been built in Stafford in the last 20 years?
There are many more lined up - the St Leonards gig for just one straight off the bat.
If you build it, they will come. The people who will build it will come. To build it.

The current KFC need to jack up their ideas... Popped in this lunchtime as a treat for the daughters birthday and they had the following issues
Self service till didn't print receipt
No small cups
Ice cream machine broken
Woefully slow service
Poor direction from the senior staff member to the clearly green new starter on what to do...

Yeah I didn't get a receipt yesterday either.
They've just put on a load of new starters, and I suspect I know which green starter you're talking about. As a bonus, the chaos ended up netting us a regular popcorn chicken, popcorn snack box with more popcorn chicken, and two free dips for the price of a popcorn snack box due to them not taking my order correctly and then not taking the regular popcorn back (and giving me dips then the person that put the bag together also gave me dips)

Yes, it's been empty for more than 20 years. Apparently it's owned by a London landlord who is happy to sit on it for capital appreciation. Terrible shame - council should look to compulsory purchase.
