Stafford Cinema - ups & downs.

We went to see Knives Out at lunchtime today, a bit nippy but great screen and a great price with a friendly service - I imagine a more full screen would be warmer.

Knives Out was excellent and I'm really glad we caught it at the cinema.

Ah! I wanted to see this but heard other reviews that said it was bad, glad you thought it was good, back on my list of must sees now :)

we saw this film last Friday - not many people, but friendly service and great price. they need to be supported much more!
heating was ok - but a little noisy.... fine during the film itself though. Also... no horrible smell of food...:D

I'm going to sound so gormless now, but do we have to book? Or can you just roll up and pay at the door?

Enjoying a drop of red.

My sources say you just turn up. They also say that if it's not a film that's especially popular, bring a warm coat.

So SBC advice is primarily for residential, and retail status, we don't need anymore retail units within the centre itself, there's plenty empty already !

"Now Stafford Borough Council has given pre-application advice saying the site could potentially be transformed into a multi-storey mixed-use conversion including ground floor retail and residential areas above."

Sam who is running the cinema has confirmed on the Facebook page that the auction won't affect the business; as they have a lease. He also made a less than subtle dig at the Express and Star reporting.

We went on Sunday and I had a chat with him, he said they're doing really well, so much so he has the Dolittle film over the weekend as a premiere before it's released next week

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
If they changed the seating to the same as the new Odeon and had more leg room, then I would use it. But until then I won't.

Well you'll have to continue paying to go to the Odeon. Sitting on the gangway row gives you more leg room you know.

I dread to think how much a complete refurb would cost. Instead people who can no longer afford to go to most cinemas can visit this one.

Sticking your legs into the gangway isn’t a solution. Plus the seats are very uncomfortable. So yes I’m quite happy to pay to go to the Odeon and watch a film in comfort. Stafford has needed a modern cinema for decades and now it finally has one.

But, dude, trading the luxuries of the new Odeon for the deprivations of the old one is worth what?

Seats are £5 dude, as cold and as tight as they might be.

There is some easy Math to be done here.
