But not if they want to escape?
Isn’t that generally a selling point for those who put them there?

But not if they want to escape?
We use AR P&G, wasn’t a good year for them last year with the last flooding completely ruining the place. This is just adding insult to injury but not sure they were using it any more anyway.
Also I did always wonder what was going on that patch of land...
There has been a responseHi All - bit of a desperate shout here, Do any of you live in the Penkside Ward or know anybody who does? The local councilor Ralph Cooke is refusing to call the application in unless a resident of the ward requests it :-( So if a ward resident can send him an e-mail asking for the application (20/31757/FUL) to be called in that would at least stop it being rubber stamped by planning. his e-mail is 'rcooke@staffordbc.gov.uk' the deadline is 3rd March but I suspect it would have to reach Mr Cooke a few days before that ;-( hope somebody can help :-(
Unfortunately that’s me , and I don’t live in the wardThere has been a response
That's interesting- this is all new to me :-( I was told It needed calling in by the ward councillor or 3 members of the planning commitee. The councillor doesn't need a resident to object for the application to be called in.
The council will have rules determining when applications should go to planning committee. Most councils will refer applications to committee if 10 people object.

Mr Cooke called me on my way home and the goalposts have moved again he now says he needs at least 6 objections by people in the ward before he will call it in.
and checking on the portal I got the date wrong its by Tuesday! a big ask but nothings impossible. Next step I guess is to hastle the planning committee :-(
Call in forms submitted.
Actually the application has been called in twice, 1 Ward Cllr 2 Planning Committee Cllrs

Another great bit of news! It will be interesting to see what the developer does now?The Environment Agency objects to the proposed development and recommends refusal of planning permission on the following grounds:
FLOOD RISK
In the absence of an acceptable Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) we object to this application and recommend that planning permission is refused. The submitted FRA by UNDA, ref. 86041-Harixon-SilkmoreLn, dated October 2015, does not comply with the requirements for site-specific FRAs, as set out in Paragraphs 30 to 32 of the Flood Risk and Coastal Change section of the PPG. The FRA does not, therefore, adequately assess the flood risks posed by the development. In particular, the FRA fails to:
Consider flood risk from the River Penk. The Rising Brook does have flood risk associated with it, however, this location is also impacted by the River Penk which needs to be considered as part of the FRA.
Take the impacts of climate change into account. Our requirements for assessing climate change were updated in December 2019, please see below advice for further information.
Consider the requirement for flood emergency planning including flood warning and evacuation of people for a range of flooding events up to and including the extreme event.
