An truly amazing sucess story for Sarah McLean.
A new McDonald’s will open in Stafford creating 70 new jobs.
With the addition of this restaurant in Kingsmead Retail Park, Sarah McLean will now own 21 restaurants across the East and West Midlands, including the other McDonald’s restaurants in Stafford on Greengate Street and Eccleshall Road that she has operated since 2011.
The restaurant will open on March 25 and create 70 new jobs for the local community. Ahead of the official opening, Sarah will host a family, friends and local stakeholders’ event on March 24.
McDonald’s franchisee Sarah McLean started her career with McDonald’s back in 1982 and has been a franchisee for 18 years.
She was recently announced as the Fred L. Turner Golden Arch Award winner, the highest recognition for a McDonald’s franchisee.
Only one percent of franchisees across the world will receive this recognition in their careers. The Fred L. Turner award is presented to franchisees who deliver a superior experience for their customers, ensure a positive experience for their employees, and passionately give back to their communities.
Last year, Sarah was awarded the Three Legged Stool Award by McDonald’s in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the UK and Ireland business.
Sarah said: “We are thrilled to be bringing a brand-new restaurant to Stafford. It’s fantastic to be able to offer more jobs within the local area with great training opportunities for everyone. I’m proud to employ a great a range of people, from students, to graduates, to those looking after a family or interested in a change of career. We employ people with a variety of demands on their time and with differing family or study commitments.
“What’s more, the new digital self-order kiosks and table service have been designed to make our customers’ experience as positive as possible and we hope to see a fantastic response to these features. We are very excited to open our doors and we look forward to seeing customers and staff embracing the new features in this busy part of the town."

So this restaurant may never actually open now. The decision has been taken to close all McDonald's restaurants in the UK and Ireland , I'm assuming till the crisis has cleared. They'll all be closed by 7pm tomorrow night.
Must be a blow for the owner though.

It will be a blow for the workers too.
However in these unprecedented times I do applaud the businesses out there that are choosing to close and are putting their workers (and the public) health before profits.
Totally agree that the welfare of the workforce is absolutely paramount.
As an aside I heard that some businesses have had to close so that their employees can get the 80% wages from Boris.
They can't claim it if the business is still partially open apparently.
Hopefully the businesses can make up the rest of the wages for those affected.

The former Wedding Dress shop by Best Atlas Kebab House has been painted pinky purple and is now a Thai Massage Place.

It's always nice when a story finishes with a happy ending. The former Wedding Dress shop by Best Atlas Kebab House has been painted pinky purple and is now a Thai Massage Place.
Legitimate business or not. When my house goes on the market and they approach Marston road a pinky purple Thai massage establishment is likely to put people off.
Was there no clock outside Peter Rogers in those days?
