Thank you for still going to work.

I don't have an answer, but I know I'm spending far more time in the bath than I ever have done. The OH isn't a talker but he's normally away 3 nights a week so to have him here ALL THE TIME is something I've never been used to in the 10 years I've known him!
Glad I'm not the only one who likes a bit of solitude!

Shopping is horrible, few people observe the rules, do what's best for you.

I'm struggling with work still, but mostly I'm struggling with having no 'alone time', I go to work and I'm surrounded by people who all want to talk about the same thing, colleagues and shoppers, I go home and there is no let up.... there are now permanently 2 people in the house that never leave, they want to talk to me about my day, about their day, about what they've seen on the internet/news/friends/blogs...it's just too much.

I used to get home and have some downtime before everyone else arrived home, now I'm surrounded by people 24/7.

Have a game of hide and seek but don't bother looking for anyone. It might give you half an hour to yourself :)

The nicely weathered sleepers I'd planned to top my pond off with have a slight issue, due to not paying attention to how I stored them they are weathered in the 'wrong' places! The algae growth is also not dying off in the way I'd hoped, so I've spent today sanding them back and treating them ready to get painted. I figure at least then the colour will be vaguely uniform and they can weather in place.

Can tell you one thing, it's a bugger to find actual fish safe wood treatments. Many are fish safe after drying but very few when applied.

Is anyone else's cat as 'Alexa' obsessive as our cat Pheobe?

She 'talks' to it all the time!

(I have a sound file but it won't attach) :(

* for anyone with Alexa, & a cat, Say 'Alexa, meow meow' - for dogs it's 'Alexa, woof woof'

I think we all like a bit of “me time”.

I was meant to be going to Spain next week for 5 days of “me time”.
Wow, that sounds totally self indulgent now.

Even when my husband and I are on holiday we don’t spend 24/7 together, we quite often go off and do our own thing.

So now, at home in lockdown, I might go off for a walk by myself and the dog, or we might go together.
I might sit upstairs reading, he might be downstairs reading, we might choose to sit together.

He might be outside mowing the lawn, I might be inside baking a cake.

We’re acknowledging that this is a time of readjustment, and giving each other a bit of space.
It’s been working out ok so far, doing stuff together and doing stuff apart.

Thankyou. I was foolish enough to ask Alexa and I followed your instructions.

Now I can't shut the f****** thing up, bloody meow mixes one after the other. Then the f****** TV joined in ... and my phone, refusing to be ignored ... followed on. Then just as I was burying myself in the garden to get away from all this, my bloody smart watch started up with it ...

My last thought is ... how is it you've never got a thermonuclear weapon when you need one ... :urgh:

Have a go at this https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

I'd imagine you'll come out as a but if an introvert, so when you've spent time around people you need to be on your own to recharge your batteries.
Dialling up the extrovert sale energy.

I've just tried this and it comes out pretty accurate for me. The only thing I didn't recognise was being in the same category as Lana Del Ray and Kevin Costner!!!

The Personality descriptions after the test threw up a few useful insights as well.

Apparently I'm an introverted intuitive thinker who is prospective and turbulent. (Whatever TF that means .. :urgh:)

I've been through these sorts of tests before, the Americans are very fond of them in certain fields of work, they wont let you know about things if you fail. I always wanted the end result to pop up 'You are a serial killer' but alas it never happened. At least I don't think it did because I got the work. (They never let on.)

Mind you of late I've been searching around for 'The Dummies Guide to Serial Killing.' :heyhey:

Mmm, I would expect that a serial killer needs to be fairly logical to progress far along their chosen path...

.. let me know how you get on, if you decide to have a go at it...

Looking at my profile I've done it 3 times now, the last time in December '18 and every time I've been a Turbulent Virtuoso, but my introvertness changes, I would imagine at the moment I'd be less introvert because I've seen so few people. I am ISTP-T.

The trouble with these things is you're asked to fill them in yourself, so they're a reflection of how you see yourself. Ask some one who knows you well to fill it in for you and you might get a different answer.

I went for a village walk this morning with the dog. We usually stop by a bench in the centre of the village, have a sit down side by side and watch the world go by.
This morning, she’s trotting along when she spots in the distance what appears to be someone with a dog sitting on HER bench.
She practically does a double take. However on close inspection and a good sniff round she decided that she didn’t mind sharing the bench after all.
