Recycling changes...

It's not backward if what was being collected wasn't being recycled, or even shipped off elsewhere.

It's backwards because drinks cartons can be recycled, even if this council prefers the cheap skate route out of doing so. They can't declare a climate emergency and then reduce the amount they are doing towards saving the environment. There is no logic in that. Backwards is what they are, and clueless too!

They took our big uncollapsed box that was alongside the blue bag but daughter was in the front yard so maybe they thought they might get grief if they left it!
Maybe get a cardboard cutout for when she's not there. https://www.celebrity-cutouts.co.uk/product-category/celebrity-cutouts/polaticians/

There is either a lack of clarity on what refuse collectors should be doing regarding the blue bag or some rogue elements.

our blue bin and bag was emptied on Monday the wagon used to collect the waste had two sections. The smaller section was for the contents of the blue bag and the larger section is where they hooked on the wheelie bins.

Yesterday I drove behind a refuse wagon in another part of Stafford and noted that they continually put all waste from the blue bag and bins into the same compartment. Which makes a mockery of sorting it in the first place.

I got one 2 weeks ago too, and exactly the same, I hadn't put any of those things in the bin....

... Unless some scoundrel put them in before the bin men got there.....
I've often found alien rubbish in my bin when Ive gone to add to it in the morning. ( Including oily car parts)
Have to get up earlier than I could have, just to check nothing ' not allowed' has been added

Do the blue bags not get dealt with at the same time as the blue bin now? , Noticed our blue bins are empty but the blue bags have been left ? Seem like a lot of fuss now going back and forth.

Our first week we have 2 seperate lorries and crews . Then the next time we had the one crew with the one lorry who did both at the same time .

Noticed a difference in how they deal with the bags as well. Ours got just left slung down in a pile with all the other nearby houses bags, still opened up. Walking down Bridle Rd a few days later , theirs were scattered over the gardens with the wind, whilst others standing or lying open near to the bins. Driving back from the Building society yesterday, the Cannock Rd ones had all been folded up neatly and folded over the tops of the blue bins with the bin lids keeping them in place.

Ours have been nicely folded back in the top of bin both times.

Ours get dropped in the blue bins, not necessarily the right blue bin but at least not blowing about in the wind.

Ok so under the new recycling guidelines, what are these classified as... recyclable or hard plastics? Blue bin or green bin?

Who knows the answer to the $64,000,000 question?

For information, the two on the left have no recycling symbol on but the other three do. I would have put them all in the blue bin before.

What about containers such as Onken yoghurt tubs?

it says they are recyclable but check with your local recycling plant to see if they can recycle them.

I’m totally confused as to what goes where now.

You should report it to the council and see what they say....
