In the neighbouring jurisdiction, the cops provide a coverall service, particularly for those currently in isolation, often elderly and living alone (cocooning, as it is termed) - shopping, delivering medicines, medical trips, etc. and sorting out any of the various issues that may have become difficult as some services become unavailable for the duration of these times. Whilst engaging with the recipients of these services, it can become apparent that there may be other, less critical matters that still could do with being resolved.

Often, it can be more efficient to just call in on the way past and sort the issue directly.

Just a thought but, that word ‘COVID’ - it struck me that in a different context it might sound like an Irish folk group’s name - and in another, an 80’s heavy metal band . . .
