They were asking for staff a few months ago, so might have reopened, either at their current old premises or somewhere new, maybe one of those smaller units, either the bap shop, or the old milkshake place near sports direct will be their new home as both are having work done atm.

Still listen as chapel street which I think is where it was before? I do hope it reopens!

Sad news
It's with a heavy heart that we are going to close McGregors on Friday the 6th of November PERMANENTLY,
we have been considering this for a while as we have been losing money on a daily basis due to the pandemic. The lack of footfall in the town and many people working from home has affected us tremendously being a small independent business
We wish to sincerely thank ALL of our customers old and new
Take Care and Stay Safe
Gloria, Gary and the Team

Damn. A lot of the tech park is going to starve now... only the white van with the blue lettering left.

That's a shame . My favourite place for a treat when in town.

When I worked in a bakery about 20 years ago ( Crumbs , a small family business within Kwiksave , before Somerfields took over and kicked him out) , we used to bake the bread for McGregors.

that's really sad. I hope the team all manage to find jobs soon. The best place to get a sandwich in town. I feel like when this is all over we will be left with hardly any independents, my heart goes out to anybody who runs their own shop at the moment.

First of many I fear, they missed a trick by no online ordering (there was a way to phone/email i think but it was rather awkward compared to how it would of been)

Not sure if this would of helped, but everything around it now has online ordering, and obviously you reach out more then, not just to the people in town.

More money for the Kiosk then, which is much better anyway.

I always use the kiosk which is cheaper and I prefer their coffee. Not to mention the staff are really friendly and I often have a quick chat with them whilst waiting for my coffee.

Far preferable than waiting for some stranger making my corporate coffee in silence then shouting my name across the cafe as if they know me and then charging me extra for a cup or for a new brand of bean they're trying out.

Just seen a post on 'Nextdoor' site , looks like M&CO inside Wildwood Co-op has closed for good ???

Post reads ....
'Ex M&Co (Wildwood Co-op). Have heard from staff at the Wildwood Co-op that the M&Co part will be turned in to a cafe run by the supermarket. Has anybody else heard what is going to happen? I think that a cafe in that location will be a plus, especially with a large number of houses and a school nearby. '

Looks like I won't be spending the loyalty bonus I've earned , and just received in the post, in there after all then.

Not a shop, but apparently St.Georges social club has closed. I'm not surprised tho, the management they had were all for the Cliques in life.
