I just had a letter calling me into Exeter Hospital on Tuesday am for PET scan. They're going to NUKE me !!!! (Which is a bit off, as I'm the one who's supposed to do the nuking around here ...)

Positron Emission Topography.

A Positron is the anti-matter equivalent of an Electron. When they meet, they annihilate each other with a release of electromagnetic radiation energy (Gamma rays) according to Uncle Albert's famous equation.

Anti-matter is the power source for the starship Enterprise as I remember. So if on Tuesday you hear a loud bang, that'll be me outward bound for the Andromeda Galaxy at Warp Factor 10.

The final frontier, where no wazzeck has gone before ... :P
Hope it all goes well on Tuesday @BobClay

When hubby ( Who watches a lot of StarTrek and other sci- fi /space programs ) was in ACU , he was convinced one morning when he woke up that the nurses and doctors at their desk facing his bed were aliens . He kept saying they had a space ship above , waiting to take him away .

On Countdown Colin Murray was talking to Rachel Riley about buildings in London and the conversation ended with
"Have you ever been taken up the Shard, Rachel?"
Rachel's reply "no but I've been taken up the Oxo Tower".

Ooh err Missus.

Bit early in the day for that sort of chat :)

And Bee enjoyed the sunshine whilst resting after her walk

Since I've been down here in Cornwall believe it or not I've never heard a cuckoo. But on all my recent visits to Snowdonia (over the last 10 years) I heard them all the time.
I remember watching a documentary about the cuckoo which portrayed them as not a very pleasant bird in terms of the way they reproduce. But then nature, for all it's beauty, isn't in the business of being Disney pleasurable ... it is what it is.

There’s quite a few birds around Stoke that aren’t very pleasant when they reproduce. :heyhey:

Having worked in the Potteries for BT climbing poles and installing new drop wires, I can't in any way disagree with that. Some of those estates up there should have a sign: "Here there be Raptors."

A sign that has always stuck me as a little odd, considering the location.

... "Do not shit on the clothes pegs!"

I wasn't surprised to hear this, as it was me shouting at the Robin, who was investigating the contents of the ex-Lidl yoghurt pot that the clothes pegs are kept in - it being the same type as the receptacle that contains their endless snacks. He is aware that their food is kept in there, as he will pop into the Shed to enlighten me that I need to top up the Dining Area - frequently.

Anyway, I knew all that, but I didn't know that somebody was approaching me from just out of sight and was about to assume that I must be talking to them, not being able to spot the intended recipient of the instruction.

They initially thought this was all a bit odd, especially as it was not the primary intention of their visit.
