But it's a hell of a lot better than going to intensive care.
Totaly agree, I just want to be prepared/ready.

If anyone has helpfull info, and has had their 2nd one before May, please let me know anything that can help.

Many thanks

I know people who've had a reaction from the second Pfizer one.

But it's a hell of a lot better than going to intensive care.

My young neighbour works in Stoke hospital. He was saying the other week that some staff who had had the Pfizer , and also the 2nd one , said they were ok with the first one, but had more of a reaction after the second dose for a few days . Nothing too bad though.

Is he going back to MP to have it again @Lucy , or have you managed to change it to closer?
He was, but then he rang up when Holmcroft first opened and got one in Telford (which isn't really much closer!). Maybe I need to get his booking reference off him and look for him myself...

I'm worried about my second dose after my bad reaction to the first.

Any advise, nurse at the Dr's wasn't exactly helpfull, not her fault though I suppose, not so much info available to her.

A friend of mine had a bad reaction to the first dose that she said lasted for a month or so, but she's just had her second dose and said she had no reaction at all beyond a sore arm for a few hours.

There's no telling if you will or not, obviously, but just to show a bad reaction to one doesn't guarantee a bad reaction to two.

Dr's don't seem to be very helpful in general at the moment, all busy calling people about the vaccine I assume?

I'm about to run out of medication that i've been on nearly a month- I should be having a medical review, or something of the other, also need a fit note which I asked about online, as phoning is even more useless.

Not heard anything, fantastic eh

Sorry rant over!

The latest data suggest the two main vaccines (AstraZeneca and Pfizer) are performing equally well.

One slight anomaly is the side effects, where around 1 in 10 have 'noticeable' side effects after the Pfizer jab, but around 3 in 10 after the AstraZeneca jab. However, it seems that your more likely to have 'noticeable' side effects after the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, but after the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Just reading about how the “naked in public” anxiety dream has been replaced by “in a supermarket without a mask” for many people. I’ve certainly had a dream or two along those lines, have you?

On dreams in general, they've gotten so vivid during the pandemic that I honestly can't wait to get to sleep, now!
(I know many people have known the joys of sleep already, but I've always been that "goddam this need to sleep, I have WORK TO DO!" type)

That's good to know, wish the 2nd one would hurry up & roll around through (I've not got a date yet) , I just want to get it all done & over with now.

I keep dreaming that as I brush my hair it all falls out.

I agree too, lockdown corona time dreams have been much more vivid. Lost count of how many times I've woken up with my heart pounding...

Minime had her lateral flow test at school yesterday, I got the results a whole 24hrs later ..(as she's under 16). Not very efficient at all.

That’s got to be down to the individual testing procedure where it was done. We’ve had several tests (every 10days or so since December) & the longest any of us have waited had been 35 minutes. Did the result come by text or email?

Black lines are median, so give some indication of what might realistically be hoped for vaccine efficacy for this one.

If your glass is half empty, you might expect a booster every two years if you've one foot in the grave.

If your glass is half full, go fill it up.

This is what happens to the ^above chart if SARS-CoV-2 is added to it -

My expectation, based on what I've read, is a booster (tweaked to focus on certain variants) next autumn/winter and then, as you suggest, every two years thereafter.
