Gorgeous! Our Boots is 12 now, too old be introduced to another Cat or Kitten.
I would love another, but I also want my home back. No wallpaper ripped to shreds, no claw marks on the settees. And I can't wait to get rid of the dirtboxes.

My wounds have just healed from the first feral kitten...

The RSPCA must have calculated I'm currently in kitty bliss and so it's time for another terror!

The husband only * just * agreed - he's said no more (he said that last time...)

In other news I never did remember to get insurance :(

Did you get this sorted?

I was thinking of you earlier while going through our pet paperwork and receipts.
We’ve got a dog and a cat and we only put a claim in once a year for each pet so that we only pay one excess.

So far for the past 10 months we’ve paid out vets bills of £1567.
The dog is due some dental treatment which will probably be another £500.

So over £2000 alone this year on vets bills and then kennel and cattery fees and pet food.

Pets can be expensive, but at least we're covered by insurance for the vets and wondered if you'd got round to insuring your lovely doggies.

That's interesting and worth checking when you take out pet insurance.

Direct Line treat different conditions as separate claims and charge the excess for each one and then only pay for further treatment for the same condition for 12 months.

They keep trying to lump similar conditions as already been claimed for and refuse to pay. I would change insurance companies but I doubt any would take Bee at her age and also she has had a number of previous conditions (nearly wrote convictions) that they probably wouldn't cover.

I want to keep her insured in case she needs any major treatment in her old age and don't want her suffering if she needs treatment.

Thanks for thinking of me, Mango has been for a while, but Ollie I only got around to this morning! Both are with More Than, who charge £100 per claim and pay up to 4k per condition (maxing at 12k overall, resets at renewal). I think it's specifically £100 per condition, rather than claim, so will probably get me for multiple if I have more than one thing treated at a time! Cost about £30/m for the two of them, I figured if something major was going to be wrong with them genetically we'd spot it in the first year so best to get the best cover now and I'll then if I change it at first renewal.

I dread to think what I've already spent on them, but then they look at me and it's worth it

And then they bite my feet

We need recent photos Tek. Show they are still being spoilt. ;)

Today they had fresh salmon with their breakfast and lamb with their lunch, most pampered farm dogs about!

It's really hard to get a photo of both together, even though I take quite a few on our walks. They do have a habit of stopping me doing anything by falling asleep on me, so here are two of that:

Noticed a minor limp over the last few days in Mango, but there was no pain point anywhere on her leg and it got better. Suddenly last night she yelped and limped a lot, so vets this morning. They suspect hip dysplasia, will know more after xrays :(
