If I remember correctly you didn't work out how Ye Olde Telecoms was wired, you just cut it out :)
That turned out to be the alarm system
(well, some of it!)

Is your toolbag still upstairs?
I got most of my stuff back, but not all. Some was left with the guy who sublet the upstairs left section off her, but for a good year I was still noticing things missing!

The tek monkey renovation was a highlight of this forum.
I did go in the dress shop before lockdown, she'd got a January sale on.
As well as looking at the dresses I found myself casting an eye around at all the shelving and whatnot and thinking "wow, @tek-monkey did all this, clever boy".

Thanks both. I actually quite enjoyed doing it, was the third shop she'd had so was getting the hang of it by then but did a much better job on this one as it was to be long term. Unlike the relationship! You could hang off those shelves and they wouldn't budge. I was quite proud of the inverted downlights in the front plinths too, seemed to work well.

Would people visit a Greek restaurant if one opens?

Yes please, I grew up holidaying in Corfu a lot and miss Pastitsio and Moussaka quite a bit

I wish it was still there, instead of the shite hole that it now is.

What’s there now? Or is maps right in showing me bare earth?

That was a lovely nostalgic jaunt.

if we're putting in orders I'd like a good Greek restaurants and a Mexican street food place please.

Sushi bar please, or just Japanese food in general! Nearest one is Brum

Simply Bilash. Nothing against the race, culture, way of life, they're pains in the arse with their parking. Came home other evening and 4 of their cars were in the residents parking spaces. It's a free for all after 6 and there's nowt that can be done. They also double park down Castle St, making it awkward for those road users who are either waiting at the temporary traffic lights or who want to drive up Castle St.
They have been spoken to, one lady made quite the public display of telling one of them he shouldn't be parking on the double yellows, whilst also over the disabled dropped kerb. He kept answering back that he had a permit.

And a new batch -

The Liquor Tank - already discussed on here
Izaak Walton Brewhouse Ltd - relicensing the Railway at Norton Bridge
The Tickled Trout - a bar at Loynton Trout Fisheries
The Wren - the bar attached to the Crown Hotel in Stone, under yet another new name
Bishton Hall - application for a bar and entertainment (films, live music, recorded music, dance, activities like music & dance) at Charles Hanson Auctions.

The Railway in Norton Bridge is re-opening next week being run by Izaac Walton Brewhouse. They have 5 handpumps in the bar but they're not sure how many will be on next week.

If I remember correctly what Clare told me initial opening hours are Weds to Sat 11.00 to 18.30.

Anyone up for a boozey Forum afternoon in Norton Bridge by the sea?

They are also using the premises as a shop selling their beers so if anyone wants any collecting and dropping off let me know.

The last time I went to the Railway it was by train. Somehow I think that option has gone.
