Thanks all, equally excited and petrified is how I've come to best describe it!

I've watched my nephews and nieces grow up, and had a sort of step daughter for a decade, so while I like to think I have a vague idea whats coming this will be my first time in the drivers seat!

Don't forget to wear your P plates on your jacket whilst you're in the driver's seat :)

Just having a spot of lunch in Settle before catching a train to Garsdale to walk back to Dent.

Hopefully the weather will brighten up when we start walking.

Today I have been to Aberdeen for my first girly shopping trip since covid.

I was super excited and was imagining changing room montages, armfuls of shopping bags and a new wardrobe full of beautiful clothes!

Instead I purchased a new lip balm and some socks for my husband.

It seems fashion has left me behind!

Well the walk from Garsdale to Dent didn't quite go as planned because the road was too steep for my hips to negotiate without spoiling the rest of the week.

We managed to get just over a mile from Garsdale and then went back and caught a train back to Ribblehead to look at some proper engineering.

Today's walkies comprised of taking a steam train to Bolton Abbey, then walking to the abbey.

When we got there we discovered that the local buses back to our village don't run in a Tuesday despite what was advertised online and the steam train has a rule that you have to go back on the same train you came on.

Oh well the taxi ride back will be nice.

Yes but in those days the bottles were stored in crates round the back of the pub. Cats and dogs could pee on them and give them some character ... :P:P

I remember watching a dog pee on some crates outside our local shop as they were being taken in, put me off pop for minutes!
