I've gone metric in most things, it's pretty much necessary in science and engineering. However, when it comes to drink, I'm imperial through and through. Still think in terms of pints and gills. Half a 70cl bottle is 35cl which is equal to 0.616 pints.

I've used a conversion factor of 1 litre = 1.76 pints here, close enough for government work. :P

(You're beginning to sound like my GP. I lie to her as well .... :heyhey:)

The new Disney series Loki, it's smart, funny with great effects and Tom Hiddleston has a real talent for comedy

I came across it last night & watched it for a few minutes. I’ve just tried it again this morning. It’s great to see another UK news channel but it’s a shame it’s so boring. I honestly couldn’t watch it for long, hopefully it’ll get better in time. (It’s on Virgin 626 & Sky)

I was getting a bit annoyed in the week about how much about GB News I was seeing on my feed from people who also don't support it, but I must admit I've been sucked in by the @GBNewsFails Twitter account. It's quite amazing how many errors have made it onto air in such short time, it's like Alan Partridge's production company is behind it.

I watched 'How the West was Won' on the TV yesterday (made in 1962) and I'm fairly sure that's the first time I've seen it since at the cinema, (I'm assuming it was the Odeon) since. It's as corny as hell and I should think a rosy picture of history, but thoroughly entertaining. At nearly three hours long (it was made in what was known as Cinerama at the time, which involved three cameras and three projectors, very high tech for its day'} it fitted on my TV with no obvious joins, I figure it's been remastered at some point. Half of the Hollywood western greats were in it, but I instantly spotted Lee Van Cleef, initially by the voice. He wasn't a big star back then although he'd been around a bit. (He was one of the three gunmen waiting at the station in 'High Noon.') According to IMDB he wasn't even credited at the time, his character being displayed as 'river pirate.'
Some of the stunt work in it was phenomenal for its day. And who doesn't like Carole Baker and Debbie Reynolds trying hard to bring tears to your eyes. (Of course, I'm a ruffy tuffy biker and ex-seafarer, so that sort of thing doesn't effect me, although I noticed a bit of sweat on my cheeks.) :P

I really need to watch that, I've read and loved the book (though I don't remember how it ends, which I guess is a plus!) and I love Elizabeth Moss in everything (especially Mad Men) so no idea why I've slept on it.

Started Netflix's 'Requiem' last night, pretty solid first episode. Also watching 'Ratched' which, as you'd expect, feels like 'American Horror Story' (its use of the same music cues doesn't help).

Also on season 4 of 'Peaky Blinders' and that has been fantastic, as everyone says it is. I will say it is prone to unexpected moments of plot contrivance that feel beneath its writing quality but they're rare. Tom Hardy is great in it, as small a role as he plays.
