My main concern is that the anti vax lot also seem to be the younger clubbing lot, at least in my social media bubble. Putting those that refuse preemptive treatment into environments most likely to accelerate infection seems risky.

That said, I'm sick of hearing "I just wanna live my life, end of!", if it wasn't for those who can't vaccinate I'd say let it rip once everyone who wants a vaccine has had it.

Stand by for Stafford’s fairly low infection rates to rise in a week or so. The bike show’s on at the showground & judging by how close the trader’s stands are to each other there won’t be a lot of social distancing going on. At least it’ll only be the U.K. dominant variant (delta):urgh::ohno::lorks:

We are now in an endemic phase of the virus which for me means learning to live with the virus circulating through the population with the vaccine doing the heavy lifting preventing hospitalisations and deaths. Going forward I expect we will treat covid like the flu. The gov are already planning booster jabs if needed but excluding under 50 without underlying health conditions. If this comes to pass the UK would not be able to maintain achieved heard immunity with only these group's booster vaccinated.

Well, that was a side-effect and a half.

I had nothing from the first jab and anticipated little from the second, but, by 7pm, I was starting to feel a bit iffy. By 9pm I was well into the 'descent into a proper dose of flu' - shaking, weak, sweating and generally feeling proper ill.

At 9pm, I decided to give in and have an early night, although I had little choice, as I was struggling to keep my eyes open.

I woke up around 2pm, having slept through, apart from a couple of excursions to top up the sweat reservoir.

I had a little lie in, so I am having my breakfast now.

I think I might have the rest of the day off.

My second hit me much worse than the first, but within 24 hours it was more just mild confusion than full on ill. Couldn't hold a train of thought properly, but could at least walk to the toilet!

I'm probably 90% back now.

I was unable to add two two-digit numbers together in my head last night..

Which jab did you have?
Astra.

The descent was very rapid - from nothing to pretty much incapacity in two hours.

Glad you're feeling better, mine was pfizer but sounds similar results. I went out with the dogs straight from the jab and ran around, thought that may have been part of it, but I was dizzy within an hour or so and within 2 had to go to bed. Much better after a very long sleep though.

We had Astra & both felt crap after the first jab yet we both had no effects at all with the second. Not even the aches arm the we expected.

Hubby had Astra . Was bad a few days after first , but no after effects at all with 2Nd. Not even an achy arm.

I was other way around with Pfizer. Felt great after 1st with just a bit of a sore arm. 2nd one knocked me about 12 hours after having it for about 8 hours. Then felt fine apart from bit of arm ache.

Lol, no we're not - a pandemic isn't over just because you've got bored of it.

In a Team Time Trial, the winning time is taken from the last wheel over the line.

It will become endemic, but there is plenty of fresh meat out there yet.

The UK has little "fresh meat" left thanks to the vax programme and natural infections. On a global scale it can easily be described as pandemic as many countries are not in our fortunate position of cases hospitalisations and deaths being massively down on what would of been without this programme. Sunny Sky's are ahead, a bit of positivity wouldn't go amiss.

That was in April when cases were low.
Cases are still low now, with record levels or testing cases are under 30k a day. How many cold cases would there be with the same level of testing?
The case rate yesterday was 0.03581910875305072% and deaths 0.00002637636874304177% of the population.

this is called vaccine escape and is common in various vaccine, it is more common in the flu vaccine. The covid vaccine is better than we could of hoped for just a year ago. Things are genuinely looking up
.
cases in vaccinated people have increased by 49% in the past weekQUOTE]
