Something quite gob-smacking. An ambulance with blue flashing lights behind a car and small lorry. Car driver pulls over, but lorry overtakes the car just as the ambulance was starting to overtake him. Then even though the ambulance had his horn blaring away as well as the sirens, the lorry continues at a speed , with the ambulance beside him, to prevent ambulance getting past :ohno:

In France, as well as many other European countries, it is not a legal requirement to move out of the way of an ambulance or a fire appliance with its blues and twos on. You do however have to get out of the way of a police car or you'll be thrown in an oubliette.

Once, we were returning to our lodgings after a day out in Nice (which was nice) and just as we were approaching the start of the twisty, mountainous, fun bit, an ambulance appeared in my rear view mirror, lights ablaze and horns blaring. I indicated right and moved across to give him space and he dully went past. I then spent the next 10km right behind him as nobody else pulled over and he was stuck in a queue of slow moving traffic, at the head of which was a tractor.

Unbloodybelievable.
