That reminds me of an old joke about two deaf blokes discussing the high price of beer in a live music pub.

The barmaid explained that the live band were country and western which got translated to some c#*! from Preston by the deaf guys.
Ah yes, I had a good laugh when i first heard that one.
Seriously though I found Preston a good place to stay for two nights with a day there with friends visiting from America, a day exploring south Lancashire and most of a day in Manchester on my way home.

Well Charlie cat has waited till this afternoon to pee, but he's done 4 tiny ones.

He looked at deaths door this morning, but the vet reprieved him till Monday. I took him upstairs to snuggle on my bed as soon as the carer left for work, he put up with me stroking him & didn't move for a good 2 hours untill Minime got up, then he turned into a growling monster, got up and went back to his crate downstairs.... Where he stayed until medium sized child visited, who he then came out if his crate for to have a fuss!

General fussing ensued, then a tiny poop, and 4 tiny pees.... Fingers crossed for the next few days.

Decided never mind hoarding loo rolls, petrol and whatever next is going to be panic bought... going to have to go in search of some BIG containers to fill up a years supply of this nice southern tap water to bring home with me!
My hair actually resembles what I walk out the hairdressers with, after washing it this morning, rather than the usual straw haystack results after washing back home.

When we first moved away from Stafford the husband missed the water and insisted on filling big canisters and taking them back with us.

It didn't last too long and was frankly ludicrous!

However my auntie visited us the other week and had some stored in her camper van for the trip!

We each had a glass - very nostalgic and delicious!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Very enjoyable day today at Southport Classic and Speed. Fortunately it didn't rain on the car, in fact it was lovely and sunny, though not very warm. Lots of interesting and interested people. The parade around a bit of the town at the end was the furthest the car has been under its own steam in 3 years!

I'm having a good day today. The taxman has just sent me a refund for over £2,500. No idea why but certainly not complaining.

I thought I'd better cash the cheque before they ask for it back and when I took it into the Halifax they said the cash would be available by midnight tomorrow.

Whatever happened to the 7 to 10 working days to clear a cheque?

End of the next working day seems fairly common now. Two full days, at the most.

With a well stocked Argos within a few minutes walk from our holiday house , been doing xmas shopping for loads of stuff not available back home for either store pick-up or delivery . Seems no problem getting stuff instantly around here, so got quite friendly with the staff after going back in numerous times today .
Our little car is going to resemble santas sleigh on the way back. Just hope son appreciates the mileage everything has travelled to make sure he gets a visit from :santa: this year .

Another plus .... worked out well hubby not being able to have last week off work that he'd originally tried to book. Having this week instead has so far meant enjoying some unseasonal fantastic sunny and warm weather , rather than last weeks rain and floods. :)

@The Hooperman ( doing it this way while can't ' quote 'on my phone)...
Clicking away spending the money while hubby was still snoring his head off . He never even missed me popping out to grab them, service was so quick.

Sitting in the same seafront bar for the 2nd time today. Lunchtime atmosphere & meal was so good , we've returned for our evening meal .
I could easily live down here , been down so much we are welcomed like locals everywhere we go.
