Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

And Vivere is bloody awful, we had a couple of dishes from there a while back and I honestly have had better ready meals. I actually said “I could make a better one than that” to my wife’s so she challenged me (who barely has any cooking skill at all) and I succeeded

I think it was a Broccoli, Pesto and Pancetta pasta? The pancetta was bacon and the whole thing just tasted incredibly bland.

If you want good pasta, highly recommend Coco de Mama. And my god the bombolonis…

Coco de Mama is just a delivery only company for Zizzi isn't?

Not eaten at Vivare in a long time but we had an ok pizza delivery during lockdown.

Keep meaning to try the Italian on Mill Street.

I hadn't been to Vivere for years until the summer but I guess it must have changed hands in the intervening period; it definitely wasn't as good as it used to be.

La Casa is great, the chicken rigatoni is amazing.

Huh… yes, yes it is. Never noticed that one, I knew it was a kitchen only but never bothered to check who it shared a unit with

Seems I’ve always had good experiences with the chain virtual kitchens, I very much miss Stacks (F&B) as we lack a decent burger place now - Burger Priest left a lot to be desired when we ordered from there. I know it’s always “you should eat local!” but at least with the chains I know what I’m getting, I’d certainly eat a Maccas a lot sooner than touching half the places in town (especially Big Bite and their McDonald’s stock photos)

Burger priest is a franchise, there's plenty of them about (and the boy and I had a pretty decent lunch there a fe weeks ago for £6 each) - it's not great, but it fits hotdogs which is a plus in our house

I don't think burgers travel well which is part of the problem with quality & delivary.

Enjoying a drop of red.

When I've been past Big Bite I've seen kids in there, with their bikes lying on the floor, people vaping inside and once their was a bit of a fight going on. Not to mention their drivers parking by the clock and right outside the shop, making driving down Mill Street difficult and getting out of The Swan/staff parking area impossible.

And they still don't take anything other than cash! In 2021!

Dodgy place. I would imagine many of their neighbours would not be sorry to see them go.

Market Vaults do fantastic burgers. I'd definitely recommend them.

If you're veggie its worse. But anyway, I had a mushroom haloumi burger from Burger Priest, first time in ages tonight and it was good. Tomo is good when it is open and when I really want to pig out I get a burger and nachos from Chico's. Stonehouse is fine when they have any burgers in stock.

I worked with a guy who was very into his crystals. I asked him if he had a crystal skull as well and he said he did.

I built a crystal radio when I was a kid. I found if you wrapped the aerial around the Rediffusion cables that encircled most houses back then, you could get the main radio stations loud and clear. Just one flaw in the cunning plan ... you got them all at once ...🤬
