How much is the clean air charge + parking?
Like really, i'm genuinely interested how that queers the pitch.
I think that people really need to factor in all of the things that contribute to their journeys - like if you can only park a 10 minute walk from where you want to go, well how different is that to a ten minute wait for the next train?
If you think it's only a few quids worth of petrol but parking is northwards of a tenner, it's not just a few quid is it?
TBF getting to Baswich is always going to be an intractable problem, seeing as whichever way you go it is always uphill...
Clean air charge for my car - £0.00
Parking right in the Bullring - I usually end up paying £10-£12.
Diesel - 1.5 gallons - round it up to £10.00
Total - £22.00
Going via train
Bus into town - last time I used the bus it was £2.40 one way for one person. So two people, two ways = £9.60
The last time I used a taxi I think it cost me nearly £7 to get from the station to Baswich - £14
Train - going by what people have said above - anywhere from £12.50 each - £25.00 to £20.00 each - £40.00
Total £34.60 or £49.60 using the bus or £39.00 or £54.00 using a taxi.
