It looks absolutely fine and by far it's preferable having an open pub than a closed pub whatever the sign is like.
Christine Baron - to be honest don't give a shit what she thinks. Known her on a personal basis for years and never once known her to do a single useful thing as a councillor.

She was certainly a fat lot of use when the council was letting the hospital fall apart.

“When the Council was letting the hospital fall apart” - councils have zero, zip, zilch control over the decisions of the NHS (see the gaping hole in Staffordshire County Council finances after the NHS took its share of a joint gin back).

The council had an oversight committee for the hospital. It noticed nothing. Neither did our earstwhile MP (apart from the fact the hospital was failing to meet it's recycling targets).

I remember when I visited here on 8 March 1984 and had a lovely couple of pints of Dogwarts Septic Todger. Only 57p per pint.

Not been able to find it anywhere else since. Don't know why.

If I remember correctly 8th March 1984 was a Thursday and that evening I was in the Star at Copmere End and the Brown Jug at Bishops Offley.

Wow, I was in the Vernon Younge early doors that night ending up at Fair Oak (can’t for the life of me remember the name of that pub)

It was the long gone Freemasons Arms, a free house with I think Theakstons Bitter last time I was in.
