How long have you lived in Stafford? If not all your life, when did you move here and where were you before moving to the county town?

I’ll start. Moved to Stafford in 2006 when I was 35. Before moving here I lived in Hong Kong.

Moved here December 19th 1981. First home was at Baxter Green, up in Doxey. Then we moved to Crab Lane to a much bigger home. Lived along the Lichfield rd, Marston Rd and now Doxey Rd since. Before Stafford I lived at Yarnfield with my parents, and well before that Lower Moddershall for 16 yrs and 26 days.

I arrived in September 1974, to go to the Poly.

Immediately before that, I had 'lived' for two years in Lincoln and a year before that 15 miles north of Lincoln.

The three years before that had been in Cyprus, so the transition to the waking coma that was Lincolnshire was a trauma from which I have never really recovered.

2005 from Telford. Wanted a traditional town centre, lived in Victoria Terrace and recently moved to South side of town. Love Stafford with all my heart. Would never move back to Telford.

We moved here in 2017, lived in Hednesford for 12 years before that & spent the first 28 years of my life in Great Wyrley near Cannock. However I had a long connection with Stafford as my grandparents lived in Bradley & I did my A-Levels at the college. Strangely I always felt I would end up here at some point. I wasn't actually looking to move at all when we did, I came home one night & the missus had seen our house advertised in the free paper (remember those?). Came to Stafford the next day to have a look (even though it wasn't built yet!) & the rest is history. Best thing we ever did to be honest.

First time - 3 year stint as a student between 2001 - 2004 - I moved from Cardiff and had the best time here. Lived in Halls, a shared house on Beaconside and a shared house on Sandon Rd. Moved to Liverpool with @Goldilox (who I met in Cardiff) to do my Masters, feeling Stafford had gotten a little small.

Second time - 2007 - present - Having finished my Masters and I got a job lecturing back at Staffs Uni. Commuted from Liverpool for a bit, then I stayed in a house share in Corporation street and went back to Liverpool on the weekend then eventually we moved down to a house in Oxford Gardens after we got married. Had to do a bit of convincing that we'd have more fun in Stafford then we were having in Liverpool by the end and that turned out to be true.

Born Stafford hospital.

Moved to Warrington for work in 2013.

Then moved to rural Aberdeenshire 2020.

I love Stafford and very proud to say I'm from there but don't think I'll ever move back as up here is just a completely different lifestyle that suits me.

I was born in Groundslow. Lived on Rising Brook (the road not the estate) for 24 years then bought a house up the north end. Spent 18 months in Heath Hayes when I met the OH before I managed to get him to move back to the borough.

Dec 2009. Moved over from Cannock. At times I wish I'd bought a house somewhere else with a decent road network :)

1974, as a kid. I liked it back in the day but I'm fed up now with the narrow minded mentality of many, the dominance of the car, the infernal traffic, the massive number of new houses with no additional facilities for them to use, and the sheer bloody minded incompetence of the council, both local and county. Be gone green space and anything good for the environment.

I'm just sitting it out waiting for daughter to settle and then I'll be off to live somewhere more suited to my values.

Loved Northern Scotland when we went and hugely jealous of the quality of life @That-Crazy-Rat-Lady is now living.

I'm genuinely baffled how anyone can like this place?

I love the place, hate the bits you highlight of course. If not here I would move to St Anne's, Southport or Cumbria. My job means I can work anywhere, my wife isnt so lucky.

I don't, just can't afford a decent home in Stone.
Thank you for making me realise I'm not alone! Stafford is such a nothing place to live blighted by the worst of a shite transport system and urban planning with no care for the environment, green anything or the creation of quality communities to live. I can't think why anyone would choose to live here :(.
