Pissed off with scammers trying their luck!!!
After rogue whattsapps and texts having to be continually blocked on hubby's phone ( linked to mine so scary as he's clicking merrily away ! ), Son's now warned me it looks like someone's trying to hack into his emails again, so to be suspicious of any strange ones coming supposedly from him.
(His mates in the past have been asked for money to be sent to an account, from supposedly another Facebook friend about to check out of a London Hotel but card declined so can they all send money urgently..... )
My parents weren't on the internet ,but lost Β£10,000 several years ago after phone calls to their landline supposedly from their bank saying account being targeted. Caller asked them to verify passwords and pins etc to make sure it was them .
Then a ' copper' turns up at door saying they need to take card for evidence and to stop fraudulent transactions.
Their bloody account wiped out and I never found out about it until their deaths !
If unsure I ring companies from the number I've got for them to check it's them ,not the number/ link supplied and few times it's not been.
Heard something on TV tonight , which might come in useful if like me you didn't know about it.... If suspecting a scam , ring 159 to check if genuine or not. Even if you can't remember bank phone number , 159 will put you through to relevant bank number and say whether links etc are actually bona fida.
