Hope not , son has to drive back to Worcester after christmas. I remember last year , on the day when he was supposed to be driving back for his shift at work , we woke up with loads of snow which had suddenly appeared overnight.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Having said I've finished I've still got a couple of things to deliver as secret Christmas presents next week but due to social distancing it's easier to take jr as an assistant than one of the lads as that would involve taking two vehicles.

Last year, I had a meeting via video on Boxing Day. Boy did that go down well with the Mrs.

Definitely not welcome by me. I see anybody doing a Snow Dance it'll be:

Out back, brick wall, .50 calibre machine gun. 🤪🥶😲💩
That's a ridiculous thing to suggest.

A .50'll go through a brick wall - you need a good bit of material to absorb the KE of the emerging rounds.

There are, of course, excellent facilities for this sort of project still existing on the Chase, which would enable you to do this safely.

Bah humbug, I'm working up to Christmas Eve at 3o'clock, then have to get up early on the 25th, drive all the way over to my sisters to do dinner for 7 people, short stop off in Stone on the way home, around 3ish. Then up at stupid o'clock Boxing day for work at 7am, followed, hopefully by a 1 o'clock finish, to do a Christmas dinner for 4.
I don't want snow at all thank you.

No snow for me either thank you. I'm quite content seeing the neighbours inflatable lit up snowman.

My ex-sister in law was wishing for snow for their wedding. She got her wish....spoilt the day as no-one could stand up on the ice , the bridesmaids were freeeeezing in their flimsy dresses as well as everyone else standing outside for photos , and travelling to church and reception the other side of town was a nightmare.

I’m not having much fun this year.

For the organised start and all the decorations up I’m still not really feeling the Christmas spirit, only the Christmas stress. I haven’t had a Buck’s Fizz yet, We haven’t done the Christmas movies and I’m just knackard all the time (I think it’s post covid fatigue)

I’m working till Thursday, my house is upside down, my children are not making things easy for me at the moment, I’ve got piles of wrapping to do and I’ve barely done any Christmas shopping for anyone but the kids. Instead of looking forward to it, this year I can’t wait for it to be over 😕 which is totally unlike me. I don’t know what’s up with me, other than that there just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day.

I was feeling a bit sorry for myself yesterday but I’ve pulled my socks up and today is another day.

Present shopping is done! I’ve wrapped everything I have here and the few other bits on order aren’t overwhelming. Vouchers are a bit of a theme now but it’s another job off the list.

Spare room is guest ready and Christmas food delivery order has been placed. House which was in the ‘gets worse before it gets better’ stage of pre Christmas deep clean is also on track and my oven is gleaming. Still not sure I’m feeling Christmasy but I’m definitely feeling less stressed about it. 💪

No snow for me either thank you, I'm at work for 6am each day this week, and finish at 7pm Christmas eve, the days after boxing day are just as busy in the run up to new year's eve, so stuff the snow!

JUST REMEMBER MUMMYS AND DADDYS
Christmas Dinner....
I have concluded that the inevitable stress of Christmas dinner is created by adverts and supermarkets....
It's a Sunday dinner for loves sake. We do it quite happily 51 weeks of the year but can we the consumers be trusted to manage by ourselves on one day of the year, apparently not!
Here goes...
1. Turkey... It's a big fecking chicken that's all, 20 minutes per lb plus 20 minutes at 180 degrees - jobs a good un! Get yourselves a meat thermometer £3 off the Internet poke it in the offending bird if it says 75 degrees or over its cooked!
2. Stuffing - regardless of what Jamie Oliver says you do NOT need 2lbs of shoulder of pork, onions breadcrumbs, pine nuts and a shit load of fresh herbs to make stuffing.... What you need is Paxo and a kettle!! If you wanna liven it up squeeze 3 sausages out of their skins and mix that in with your Paxo before cooking
😉
.
3. Gravy - Jamie Oliver is copping for this one aswell....
Bisto Jamie.... All you need is Bisto!
4. Vegetables. Never mind faffing round shredding sprouts and frying them with bacon and chestnuts to make them more palatable, If you don't like them don't buy and cook the fecking things. If your family only eats frozen peas then that's good enough!
5. Roast potatoes. Yes I part boil mine then roast them in goose fat or whatever you want to use, but Aunt Bessie also does the same
😉
.
6. Trimmings,Christmas pudding Mincepies and the like, whatever shop you use or do what I do bake them yourself
7. Family. Children, Feed the little blighters first separately, if they only want turkey with tomato sauce fine leave em to it, it doesn't matter. Once they are fed bugger them off to play with their Christmas presents so that YOU can enjoy your dinner in Peace!
Adults. Anyone that can manage to get their sorry arse to your dinner table is also capable of helping to serve up/ sort the kids out/ clear the table /wash up /dry up etc.
And Finally.....
NO ONE, And I mean no one APART FROM THE COOK IS ALLOWED TO GET PISSED AND FALL ASLEEP BEFORE THE WASHING UP IS DONE!!!
Rant over
😂

Last time we had Christmas dinner we had duck, neither of us are big Turkey fans.

Above all else it’s about enjoying the day and cooking a big meal is a great way for my wife to not enjoy the day. Now we just have party food type stuff

Does it matter what you have though? I'd be just as happy with a plate of baked beans on toast, if I lived alone that's probably all I'd have. x
