Guildhall closure?

By closing off the gym entrance , they really have handed a death sentence to the remaining shops inside. Went inside and it was that quiet, you could hear the wind coming through the closed entrance doors.

I can't remember the last time I walked through that section of the Guildhall without feeling like I was in a dystopian movie exploring derelict buildings of old

That’s exactly how I felt walking through The Galleries in Aldershot

Was quite exciting tbh

When I shopped in Warren James in the Guildhall the other week , the assistant said that they were going to be closing on thursdays and sundays from 3rd Jan so their business may have suffered from the lack of passing footfall as well.

I also noticed FHinds have cut back their hours , and now close at 5 too.

***URGENT CUSTOMER ANNOUNCEMENT***

Due to part of the glass roof atrium in the main area of the mall falling in from the high winds we have had to make the decision to close the centre for the rest of the day.

We apologise for any inconvenience cause but I'm sure you can understand our customers safety is paramount.

Please spread the word.

Many thanks

Shouldn't it be customer in the singular form nowadays rather than plural ? ??

Still no more news on what the new owners are planning? The gym will be closed later this month so one step closer to being totally empty

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Recently a staff member in Warren James told me they have a lease until 2027 and she said they had no intention of leaving. I would assume the Guildhall owners would have to buy them out of the lease to get them to move before then.

With so few retailers left they could probably declare bankruptcy, close the centre and force everyone out, then buy it through a shell company for £1

I think the plan is to let the glass roof cave in , then condemn the whole lot on the grounds of heath and safety. Tbh , if that would have fell on someone when trading , and killed them , the centre would have been finished anyway.

Sooner it's empty the sooner they can start with the rebuild, it's the few stragglers that are holding the whole thing up
