Just had quite a disconcerting experience on the Common. Walking my lil rescue pupsters from the Common Road through past the house with horses I notice a man and his dog up the hill to the right. I headed straight ahead in the direction of the Stone Road. Get half way across by the metal fence and find this merle French Bulldog in hot pursuit. It was the dog up the hill as I'd entered the common.
Anyways, this dog chased and chased my dog who was less than impressed. If she stood still so did he. If she ran, he tried to round her up. This went on for about 10 mins. The owner made zero effort to come claim his dog, no shouting, didn't come over. He literally walked off the common. I was a bit astonished.
Anyways, I caught this dog and leashed it using my lead and dragged it back over to the Common Road to its owner. The conversation went like this:
Is this your dog?
Yeah i was hoping you would take him and I'm fed up with him. Cost me 3 grand as a puppy but no one will buy him for even 500. I dont want him. He's too badly behaved, I'm fed up with him
Now this is a beautiful looking merle entire male Frenchie. I don't like them but jeesus, he didn't deserve this clearly exasperated owner. Had I had my phone on me I'd have got the blokes details. Alas I didn't. I did explain that there are breed rescues he could contact or Pet Welfare in Stafford but he was convinced rescue was worse than selling to gawd knows who.
Anyway, if anyone knows an East Asian man, maybe Chinese or Vietnamese, with a young male merle Frenchie pass on my details and I'll help him find the dog a home where he is wanted and loved
