That's lovely @Glam . My favourite 'pet' when I used to visit my gran in Hanley was a knitted dog. A bottle with loo roll holder (I think) for it's head with knitted body outside. Can still see it now , and used to love it like it was real . (Bit of a comfort to me when I had to stay there for months while mum was in hospital and I was missing our blind collie back home.)

Awww. It can also be a Terrys Chocolate Orange holder too.
His Mum's sent me a photo via FB private messenger, his little face's all lit up. Just when I'm feeling shite, and useless, I've actually done sumat nice.

Having become aware that there was a possibility of a musical event at the second-nearest acceptable pub tonight, I headed out into the teeth of the wind.

I was not disappointed -

There was considerable musical prowess on display.

I was also made aware that two off-duty guards were on the premises, so I decided to leave about half-one-ish...

The ride home, with the wind, was remarkably easy, but I had been persuaded to surpass my three-pint limit and had been provoked into having five - this was not my fault, in any way..

Very blustery walk along the beach at Formby this afternoon. I think the pooches thought they might get blown away a couple of times. Having a big mug of OXO now to try and get the feeling back into my hands.

I have been using computers daily for about the last 22 years of my life and I literally only just discovered LAST NIGHT that you can capitalise letters with the shift key. I've been just hitting the caps lock key on and off at the start of every sentence!

I think that the first time I looked at a keyboard I just presumed that's what that key did and no one ever told me otherwise.

Well, that'll save you some time in future!

We're just back from a week in The Lakes. A lot of trees down from the storms in November, and the OH went for a run over Claife Heights this morning then had to take a detour when he heard trees starting to fall.

Caps Lock on modern computer keyboards annoys me. It's very easy to knock it on by accident. On a 'proper mechanical typewriter' you were required to press the Shift Key, then also press the Lock key to physically latch it down, a far less accident-prone procedure.

On my old Atari ST keyboard, the Caps Lock key is well separated from the Shift key, so that accidental operation is much less likely. The Lock key really only needed to be adjacent to the Shift key for mechanical reasons.

Some moron taking his two kids over the marshes on an electric truck and motorbike. I mean what goes through people's head. You're not even allowed to cycle over there so he thinks them zooming round on vehicles is ok? FML :(

There's never a shotgun lying around when you need one.

Probably a bit late to the party but don't go with an agent!!

We sold our house for FREE with Strike last year!

Why pay??
One of the houses is on the market with Free Agent , We were contemplating putting in an offer as it's in the best position and a nice decent sized 3 bed corner plot with own driveway. BUT talking to the agent showing us around were informed that it is us , the buyer , who has to pay the purchase fee of 1% + Vat , whilst the vendor pays nothing. We would have to knock over 3k off the offer price to compensate for 3k+ extra fees.
Would have put an offer in this weekend if it wasn't for that . Not completely ruled it out , but don't like that idea at all!

You would if you were the seller.

Cuts both ways.
