Up until 1975 yes but then at the pub at times.
I had remembered the Anchor as opening every lunchtime and every evening after 26th May 1975 but it might not have been many years until it closed for weekday lunchtimes or maybe your holiday was before that date.

Message today to say it's been printed, should get posted in a few days. Thats 31 days so far from the date I had someone verify the photo, just in case anyone else needs a passport quickly.

Just realised he'll get a crappy blue one, luckily he's getting a burgundy one while on our first trip with this. Do you have to use the same passport to enter and leave a country? Looking at best ways he can avoid the queues!
Arrived this morning, now to arrange the EU one. Just waiting out May 9th in case Putin is a bigger knut than thought.

What's the thoughts on 9th May?
Its Russias equivalent of VE day, kind of. Victory over the nazis, their big military day, most likely why painting Ukraine as Nazis was so important and why they are now scaling back to take the East instead so they can claim a victory by this date.

Baltic states are watching with unease, as Putin clearly has sights on reoccupation of their former empire. My FIL doesn't want us over there around that date just in case, they really hate the Russians but he was there throughout the occupation so has good reason.

I got lucky down the M5 today , traffic flowing freely all the way despite warning signs of 'reported obstacle ahead' but nothing there at the time......no warnings earlier on though of the lone rogue traffic cone suddenly encountered in lane 2 on the M6 by jct 10 :o

Trying to avoid the temptation of a sauna & swim in the hotel pool until tomorrow. Just paid over 100 quid for my hair , so want to at least have tonight's Greek restaurant night out with son & his girlfriend while it's still looking good, before ruining it!

Just had my first swim since before covid days. Had the hotel pool to myself for an hour , so just kept going up and down for the full hour until people started appearing.

Only other 2 people in sight were the 2 lovers in the jacuzzi who got slung out for having sex in there 😲. Attendant appeared , pointed out the cctv camera pointing straight at the jacuzzi, and asked them to leave .
No way was I going in the jacuzzi after that!

And sods law...been waiting for estate agent to get in touch all day, a couple of minutes after I'd gone for my swim she rang.

So isn't that what jacuzzis are for ?

Forgot to add, but funny how Russia had no issues with Ukraine (or Moldova) while pro Russia people ran them. As soon as the use their democratic process to elect someone that isn't a stooge suddenly they're nazis and must be liberated.

Had on and off Tinternet for days now, finally got round to ringing Virgin Media yesterday*, had a moan and was put on priority for this morning. Engineer scheudled to be here between 8am-12pm. He arrived at 11am. All fixed now, new hub and things seem to be ok, fingers crossed.
Due to both of us working nights, and me being so incredibly lazy, I had a mad dash to clean and tidy this place up, ohmegawd, we can see carpet downstairs! Poor Bootywooty didn't know whether to kill the hoover or love it, he never hears owt like it in this house. I'm knackered now, wake me up in time for Christmas please x

*Small edit. I had a good moan about how much my bill is/was a month too. So, the kids telly package has been taken off, and now te bill has gone from £99 a month, right down to £60. If they took the SKY channels off, it'd go up to £65, doesn't make sense to me that.

Are you in contract? I 'leave' every year or so and get a better deal!

I am now, it's for 18 months now. Don't know why I wasn't before, been with Comtel/NTL/Virgin for the last 16yrs, this is the first time I've had a contract. The lovely bloke I spoke to yesterday told me to ring the month before the contract's up, and they'll do me a deal with discount again.

Had a bloody heart stopping icy cold shower and about to go to reception to report no warm water afterwards. Hubby wakes up and starts running a hot bath.....turns out he turned a hidden switch off yesterday after his bath whilst I was swimming

Ours would have cost us more with virgin if we didn't have the telly part on, so we kept it on even though we hardly used it.

Just got back from our short break to find urgent documents to sign and fill in , including both the sale and purchase contracts . Must have come the day we went away  with instructions to do ASAP. Mad panic to fill in , getting neighbour to witness signatures etc , print off copies for us , and get them back up the post office in time.
Thankfully for once the printer didn't play up and I hadn't packed away (or worse slung )the big envelopes!

Where can I buy fresh Gulab Jaman/Dewalli sweets tomorrow in Stafford? Mill Street International Supermarket!?
The shop on Mill Street sells Gulab Jamun. I think it's called Stafford International supermarket or something like that.

No idea if they're nice or not as I daren't try them with my diabetes. Couldn't see a price either.

Discovered today that one of my friends has aphantasia, which is the inability to form mental images (she says she can visualise photographs she's taken but she can't just summon an imaginary scenario in her mind). Only 0.7% of the population do, made me wonder if anyone here has it?

She wasn't sure if she had it so I asked her if she could visualise a dragon flying down her street and she said she couldn't even imagine what her street looks like.

Coop near Rising Brook sells Gulab Jamun. It has probably the best world foods selection of any of the major supermarkets in town in my opinion.
