It's Chrstmaaaaaasssssss - Well it's September and that's usually good enough for me! :xmas:

As most of you here are already aware, I'm more that a little Christmas obsessed but.......................Last year was a bit of a dud for me, between a new demanding job, Covid lingering, everyone else's expectations, not enough hours in the day and just not totally being in Christmas Spirt I found all the things I usually enjoy and look forward to really just feeling like a lot work.

I'm determined that this year will be better and for me it starts here! I'm delegating - Hubby can make the decisions and be the bad guy with the invites. Christmas shopping and wrapping will begin imminently (I think that's still my job but it's fine if I give myself enough time) and I've started booking a few Christmas days out to look forward to. So far we have the Black country Living Museum and the Illuminate lights at Shugborough booked!

Anyone else have any plans yet?

Does anyone have any suggestions for family days out with a 14 year old and a 10 year old? (we will do a Christmas market and I'm hoping to remember to bag some Chatsworth tickets this year before they all sell out too)

We went into a Torquay card shop today . His work colleague almost ended up with a christmas card for her birthday by mistake. Most of the shelves were christmas cards and christmas related gifts already.

Got as far as buying some suction hooks when I saw them , ready to put some christmas fairy lights on the conservatory windows.

Don't know whether it's going to be just me & hubby for christmas this year, or joined by son , or both son and his girlfriend. Or maybe get an invite to his house instead . He may well be invited to visit her parents in Portugal fover the christmas period instead.

I'm told Trentham Gardens illuminations are pretty good.

We went last year and they were fab, we couldn't get near the Christmas stalls though, the walk was fine but those were really busy.

The best lights funnily enough were the lightopia at Alton Towers and they had a fab Christmas market too and a few other entertainment things going on.

Chatsworth Christmas tickets have appeared!

Prime date -all booked!

I haven’t seen them advertised yet, I’ve never managed to get any before they’ve sold out so I’ve been checking almost daily for the last week or so. 🎄🎅🏼🤶🦌🛷☃️❄️🧤🧣

I'm feeling a bit festive today after making Christmas spiced elderberry gin! Should be ready for December!

Anyone have any good Christmas cake recipes? Am I right in thinking you feed it rum for a few months?
My Christmas Cake dealer - last year I had Christmas cupcakes to my door - has made hers this weekend so it must be time.
