Take a taxi. It might do wonders for your blood pressure.Intended to go to a carpet place on my way back from Opticians. Got completely lost, with satnav screaming at me trying to get me back on track, but with so many bus lanes I darent go down some turnings. Atrocious weather and could hardly see a thing in the rain. Ended up recognising a road I'd dropped son off at his mates the other night , and somehow made it home from there. ( Couldn't stop in traffic to reprogramme satnav to home , so it was still screaming at me to go in the opposite direction all the way home ! )
So still got finding the carpet place to look forwards to.
Even better , get son to take me on his next day offTake a taxi. It might do wonders for your blood pressure.
Think she'll be safe on that one. She doesn't know where our kitchen is.Hope the op goes well and Mrs T makes a good recovery.
I had a full Hysterectomy a few years ago . Just make sure she does NOTHING at all afterwards. ( They told me off for fetching the old lady in the next bed a cuppa from the machine because no-one else was seeing to her. Even that was classed as too much).
While I was in hospital there were so many coming back in as they had done too much too soon , so hard as it was to not even make myself a cuppa back home I stuck to it.
Don't bother waiting to see what results your Mum gets, ring someone. You can't do full personal care on anyone in under 20-30 minutes, never mind 6 minutes. Adult skin is no different to a babies when it comes to urine damage. The last thing needed is skin breakdown and if he isn't very mobile, that may lead to pressure sores etc. I don't need to say what the ultimate result of those may be.I've just gotten off the phone from my rather distraught Mom. I'm now so angry I want heads on spikes!
My Dad is having to have 4 care calls a day as he has deteriorated since his hospital stay. He's barely mobile and still reliant on a catheter. The care agency sent in by the council are a joke. The physio has already put in a serious neglect complaint and that was only after 3 days. There are many little things ranging from leaving the bathroom in a total state after washing Dad (now they've started as they weren't) not using any kind of soap as all the soap in the bathroom is bone dry. only spending less that 5 mins in the house to literally walking over the post in the porch scattering into almost unreachable places instead of either sidestepping it or better yet they could pick it up. Also grumpily chastising my Dad for not attempting to sort his own catheter, even though he is ill and barely even knows what happened 5 mins ago or what day it is and at the moment it is their literal job. The more serious complaints are since Sunday. They have spilt urine all over the bedroom carpet and used the bathroom towel to place over the puddle then leaving it there on the floor as a pee soaked trip hazard. Not attaching the catheter bag properly so it has leaked all over the bed (that is brand new) soaked through the duvet, soaked into the carpet again and making everything so wet my Mom sat on the bed for a few mins and was soaked through up her back as well. Bear in mind when she went upstairs to speak to my Dad the carer was still at the bottom of the drive so either she knew he was wet through and didn't do anything or she didn't even check him during the lunch time call as he couldn't have leaked that badly within 5 mins. My Mom is disabled herself and can't really manage to change the bed by herself and certainly can't manage cleaning a carpet. My Dad is already quite ill with a call into the Dr today and certainly leaving him lying in a pool of piss in a soaked bed is not going to do him any good.
Mom called the agency and played holy hell. The carer had logged her visit as 6 minutes long. Agency has assured my mom she will never be sent out to them again as Mom was ready to kill her. She's awaiting a call back as to what they are going to do about the situation. In the meantime my friend looked up the councils number so My Mom can complain again to them about this disgusting service. If she gets no joy, I'm taking it to social services and the CQC.
Hope all goes well xMrs T in hospital today for hysterectomy and removal of a huge, so far unidentified lump.
Really sorry to hear this. Just so you know though the CQC are the ones that told me sending untrained kids out to do home visits is fine!I've just gotten off the phone from my rather distraught Mom. I'm now so angry I want heads on spikes!
