Breaking, digging, dust, excessive and prolonged noise for anybody in sight and that noise will carry on for a fair distance in all directions.
I'd guess it will be one of the biggest areas to be broken since one or two town centre projects. I'll also guess there will be a load of complaints from residents about debris and mud from lorries leaving site. I'd guess one or two on here will air grievances and some will respond with "buy a house somewhere else then!" cos that's what some people are like!

You missed out huge damage to roads. Stafford's roads have already taken a huge beating with all the construction traffic.

the mini roundabout on the Hough is going to end up levelled by the end of it all with all the traffic....
That roundabout was supposed to have been realigned to make it easier for the large loads from GE Transformers but it never happened.

Is it a mini roundabout? I thought those were the painted ones. Anyway, I've seen worse in Stafford. Someone took a wide load down Beaconside once and smashed all the signs in on the side of the road and churned up all the grass border.

Lichfield Road it is...Even though I live on the Crossings I can't believe for a moment that they would have had permission to use the exit to Lichfield road for the digging up of the concrete...

:D I was looking on Google streeview for a painted one wondering where it was :) Anyway, some places have a lane across the roundabout to big HGVs can drive across them.

Is the transformers site the reason why Stafford planners seem to hate roundabouts?

I still have trouble getting my head around this, having been out of Stafford now for more than 30 years. I still think of it as the English Electric (the Ingo.)
Top ..........2003
Bottom....2021

Correct it makes no sense! The only large area near the town centre that could have been converted back to industrial and commercial - GONE!

Well they've moved a lot of buildings to the north of the town, probably because they don't have to take down traffic lights to move stuff around. Plus the days of people living in the terrace houses and walking over to the factory are long gone. Why would anyone have industrial buildings in the more expensive parts of town?

Are they going to be moving substantial items in and out of the sheds off the A34?

I suspect they will still only be running the transporters from the Transformer building, until they give up with that and close it.

I don't know. But given that part of the A34 is dual carriageway it seems like it would have to go up to Stone and back before it could get to the M6. There must be plans for an extra roundabout somewhere along there at some point. Oh hold on, there's traffic lights.

No the building at Redhill are only offices and shopfloor manufacturing of small items.
Only big things are the standard lorries.

There is a new roundabout outside the new Pets at Home building....
