Proposal for new houses in Walton on the Hill.

telling them to go on holiday every month. 'But we don't know where we fancy'. Just get on an effing plane.
I arrived at an old codger's house once, a bloke who was concerned about having too much in savings, but not prepared to spend anything, just in case...

As I entered, another friend of his, a retired vicar, was leaving, and looking very despondent.

"What was up with Roger?", I asked. "He wanted me to go on pilgrimage with him, but I managed to get out of it by not having a passport", he said, quite pleased with himself for having such a good excuse immediately to hand.

I asked him where the pilgrimage was going to and he told me.

I had to get his old school atlas out to show him where the exotic-sounding Lindisfarne actually is...

He thought it was in Italy.

Just little old me:)

Lindisfarne is stunning. Used to go to Berwick upon Tweed loads as a kid and take the boat out from Seahouses to the Holy island. We went one year (I'd be about 9yrs old) and the sea was that rough that the bow was uplifting over 90 degrees and dropping back down. As a fearless kid I loved it but there was a biker couple in leathers that were crying with fear 😂. I think that's where I gained my sea legs

Is the 'gifted' one the one one that if you die in the 5 years following the 'gift' it becomes eligible for inheritance tax?
Also is it still true that 'fine wines' (vintage £50k bottles etc) are still exempt from inheritance tax?
7 years, we were told.

Had a hell of a job proving where I got my mums money from.

Luckily had Lloyd's paperwork

..worth their £16,000 charges to prove all above board!

I thought the agenda for change pay scales were pretty much universal across the NHS in England. Band 2 should be the same everywhere?

This is what you should be getting

Right, it's taken this long for me log on at work to have a noz. I am on £10.90 per hour. The £12+ looks like London. There's no way we'll get that for a long time.
What is seriously annoying, the Domestics/ Housekeepers/ Cleaners, call them what you will, they get the same Band as me, not all the same rate PH, having all been moved to Band 2 a couple of years ago. It's very rare that a patient will ever attack ''The hand that feeds them'', whereas, I've been dragged down a corridor by my hair, kicked, scratched - I have a lovely scar on my wrist where a patient sunk her nails in me. I've been thumped, had hot drinks chucked over me. 1 of the Nurses I'm working with at the moment, had part of her ear bitten off by a lady, who knew exactly what she was doing btw.
All this and we are deemed not right for Band 3.

Glam, this is the band 2 pay, for all band 2s, if you aren't getting this then join a union and find out why!

Search for 22/36536/OUT on the Stafford planning site if you want to comment. When I last looked the tally was:

Comments Received: 126 Objections: 122 Supporting: 3

It does seem to be odd. Perhaps they aren't able to redact the identities of the respondents automatically? although they've done a poor job of that with some of the others in the documents section.

Still, I felt like my comments were rather brief compared to some in the documents section, people in there have really done their research into the laws on consolations, impact assessments etc.

I always wonder in these cases how old the houses are the complainers live in. Castlefields was a great example of complaining about others doing what you just did.

Well, the Old Croft Road houses look like around 1930s vintage to me. This aerial photo from 1954 shows they were there then.

My house was built in 1965.

Yes, we're probably all guilty of living in houses built on land that was once lovely countryside.

True. But there's a certain level of density which works and once you start to cram more in it doesn't work so well. Staffords road network just can't cope and it isn't easy to improve without building on sensitive marshlands. The local council can't afford to build new roads and central government will tell them to sod off.

You just tell the house developers they can only build if they upgrade the infrastructure, then leave it up to them to see if they really want new houses.

EDIT: Out of interest where in Stafford do you think they should be built instead?

Now about Sandon ?
That's not had its share of new housing since Edwardian times.
Actively opposing that might be something our MP would actually do !

As they should. Everyone needs to start looking at alternative modes of transport to resolve the issues of congestion, not cars. The Dutch have done it very well. Instead of building more roads invest all that money on a fit for purpose public transport system and proper cycling infrastructure. The only reason its not done here is the backward governance and vested interests involved in cars and road building. No monetary profit in cycle paths despite them being green, keeping traffic moving and improving the health of the nation.
