Record Shops.

Is there a Collectable Records online shop somewhere (ebay, Discogs)? That website is a bit old-fashioned, and I keep getting a message telling me my browser doesn't support frames when I try and look at what's in stock.
It's eBay somewhere but I've never found them as a seller 🤷‍♀️

Collectible records would get so much of my money if he opened that gate on his door occasionally.
The 'shop' is not really a 'customer friendly shopping environment' these days, it tends to be piled up with packages awaiting the arrival of the mail van. Negotiating the interior space requires the agility of a mountain goat.

In my 'memory' they went from Mill Street to Salter Street, and I don't remember them in Woodings Yard at all.
Ah that was it. I remember them moving but couldn't remember where they went.

I think someone in this thread said something about Woodings Yard that probably threw me 🤣

Funky Records was in Woodings Yard at some stage. They were also somewhere near North Walls for a short period, but I can't remember exactly where.

Was Good Deal Records in the same shop as B# Clothing in Woodings Yard? I remember having to go through a record shop (where Candid is now) and walking up the stairs to get to the clothing. As you approached the top, you were greeted with a shop dummy wearing full on WW2 German army uniform, 'mit' trench coat.

Our Price was where O2 shop is now, i think. I'm sure there was a record shop in the old Sheridan centre, somewhere near Tandys.
WHSmith also had vinyl and cassetes upstairs where the Post Office is now.

Someone else has already mentioned Andys Records, but there was another one, cant quite remember the name fully but it I think it was something like 4 Square?

It was located where Vision Express used to be, fairly big inside with TV's mounted from cieling brackets I think? It woulf have been cira 1993 as I remember there being a life size cardboard cut out of Janet Jackson promoting her self titled album, "Janet"

There was also a small shop in St Mary's Mews, probably in the late 80s - no idea what it was called.

It sold mostly classical stuff, jazz, etc.

I had a Saturday job at Woolies as a kid, I became the computer guy and also worked on the record desk.
I remember the original band aid single we had boxes of them instead of the normal couple of dozen

I was living in Cannock back then. We bought our C64 from Boots but they didn't have any tape decks. We bought the tape deck at Woolies. But it wouldn't load every game and for some reason we took the tape deck back to Boots, presumably because we took the whole computer back for not loading (It was Hunchback that wouldn't load). Of course, I now know it was the azimuth adjustment that was out.

Funky Records - yes, that's it - could not remember the name.

It was myself who suggested it had been Lotus, all i remember was they took over a space that had previously been a record shop, if i have misremembered which one i would not be at all surprised.

Yes they then moved to North Walls, where the Pizza place is, but folded not long after.

This was not just a record shop, it was an epicentre.

One of THE best record stores in Stafford and I am suprised no one has mentioned it yet?

Funky World on North Walls.......Richard Marshall and Mark Rowley (Swoon Resident) , upstairs was also the HQ for Smokin' Beat Records, turned out to be a significant record label for the UK Garage scene.

Do you think they may be able to help with the gaps in my Johnny Cash collection?
