Hot dogs & chips......but not really..

Bratwurst in hot dog buns with lashings of BBQ onions, and the carers favourite, piri piri chips.

Carers cooking, I'm poorly, and in a mood, and can't be bothered.

I've had a Wensleydale cheese and Branston Pickle butty, because the Great Unwashed Jesus looking thing from the back bedroom has gone to Worston Mill for a meal with his Daddy. I get the Greyhound at Yarlet, he gets Worston Mill!!

Someone had the bright idea of having chicken & feta salad for tea.....I don't want cold salad, I want chippy chips!

Beggars can't be choosers, salad it is.

along with a battered pineapple ring.
Now reading that I'm craving a battered pineapple ring, love them.

A bush trucker trial for me tonight for tea ....salad .....with loads of tuna , mayo & cottage cheese to make it eatable. (Takes me about half an hour or more to pick away at it) Saved the small cheesy jacket spud to enjoy seperately after it.

Regular old favourite tonight, Tuna Pasta Bake. Requested by him in the back bedroom. Means I don't have to think about doing anything tomorrow evening now either!
Off for 12 days in total, so he expects a Mum cooked meal everyday. He'll be lucky.

Burnt offerings ........charcoaled chicken , black parsnip cinders and black shrivelled up spuds.....
Should have been BBQ chicken breast , jacket spuds, honey roast parsnips, carrots, peas, broccoli , spinach & gravy.....did some of my jigsaw for 'a few minutes' in the conservatory , so couldn't smell the burning until suddenly remembering hours later 😂

Enjoying a drop of red.
Hopefully the next half hour will bring a Chinese to this place. Whatever, a celebration can be had, sadly with only the dregs of a bottle of red, as an early start is required to deliver jr to 6th form in the morning.

Tuna salad , cheesy jacket, followed by a crisp cob just as I was still hungry.

Tonight Matthew we shall be tucking into a Bernard Matthews Turkey Roast, Mr Sainsburys ready roasted potatoes, yorkie puds and stuffing. I shall also be having Auntie Bessies Carrot & Swede mash. Smothered in Mr Sainsburys vegetarian gravy and Mint sauce.
Your meals are always the sort that I really enjoy @Glam. Can't beat a good roast !

To be honest, I don't go overboard with meals. For a start, my lad wouldn't eat owt too fancy. Or as he puts it - mucked about with. Most of what we do eat is normally from the reduced sections. Tomorrow night we're having a chicken korma. I got the chicken cheap in Sainsburys, froze it till we decided what we wanted use it for.
I don't have the know how on how to do fancy stuff either. Plain and simple in this house - a bit like me!! x

Exactly the same here. Mines just mostly meat & veg plain and simple cooking what we enjoy ( and I'm not clever enough or got the patience to faff around myself to make fancy creations) and stock the freezer up with the bargains as I see them.

(Everything has apple sauce with it as got a freezer full of apples from sons neighbours orchards to get through. She has visions of me making lovely home made pies with all the cooking & eating apples , damsons etc ....in reality apples sauce or crumble is the easiest and more successful option. Luckily hubby eats at least one apple a day and enjoys fruit , haven't bought any since we moved in yet 😂)

Tonight is quorn mince, mixed veg and jacket spuds . In fact Jacket spuds for the next few days as did loads in the oven at the same time yesterday.

This is exactly how I feel. I do have a nose at what everyone else is having on here, think to myself, ''oooh that sounds lovely'', then think sod it, I don't have the time, patience or know how stand there doing it.
I worked in the kitchen at St.Georges for 8 years, best thing I learnt was how to make a Lemon Drizzle cake. Haven't done one of those for months because I just can't be arsed these days.
I do love a Jacket spud tho, girl at work wraps hers in foil and bungs them in the slow cooker, says they come out perfect. I get the McCain bags of jackers from Sainsburys, just over 5 mins in the microwave. Bob's your Uncle, Fanny's your Aunt. Simple.
