It looks like a transformer currently blocking the Weston Road not far from the Morris Man.Traffic completely shafted coming into town from the South. Sounds has happened with the transformer they are moving, all traffic is being diverted down at Leonard's avenue and fairway....
It's probably that Starscream, He's always been a pain.It looks like a transformer currently blocking the Weston Road not far from the Morris Man.
Just watching some videos of this being reversed onto Lichfield Road. I'm surprised someone at GE didn't think it would be a good idea to make an access road across their old land to the Lichfield Road entrance, especially with the access points/gates still there on Ranshaw Drive & Lichfield Road.** Wide load alert **
On Saturday 20th January, a 500 tonne wide load will be leaving the GE Grid Solutions site near Lichfield Road, Stafford.
The wide load is one of the heaviest loads in the past 12 months and is expected to travel slower than the usual wide loads from this site.
It is believed to depart from the Stafford site around 8am and will travel past Asda, Weston Road, Beaconside, and on to the A34 towards Stone.
Not sure if they were joking but someone who lists working at GE commented on one of the videos that by 2025, a transformer will be leaving the site every 9 days.
I wonder how much of that is because of outsourced work.Friend who works for GE has said it's been a pretty bad 2023 in terms of output. Quite a few things going wrong, failing tests.
Abysmal planning. How many times has that "roadworks start here until" sign after Yarlet Bank been changed. I'm sure it's said "Spring 2023", "Autumn 2023", "Winter 2023" and now "Spring 2024". Awful. Sure someone said on this thread they were planning on finishing in a few weeks - this was back in September probably. How long does it take to lay a pavement - a pavement that probably noone will walk down?A34 closed overnight 25,26,27 at pets at home.
They might even finish it before the beaconside ones start.
I think they underestimated the amount of work needed for the last section of pavement, probably forgot there was a culvert they had to extend.
There's another one planned for next Saturday January 27th as well.** Wide load alert **

All part of the master plan, 15 minute cities and whatnot, the idea is you'll never be able to go more than 15 minutes without a road closure!Won't be visiting town this summer then.
A34 closed from Pets @ Home to the REdhill roundabout southbound, no warnings until you get there.Delays at redhill by audi, serious water leak
