Councillors will just say why weren't you cycling or walking. Seems to be their answer to everything. My reply would be why are the roads still only suitable for the traffic levels of about 20-30 years ago when there's been dozens of new housing estates since then.

Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Some joined up thinking might be nice, what good is pressuring people to ride bikes into town if the roads are too dangerous, there's not enough cycle lanes on main routes and when you do get to down there's no secure lockers for your bike.

It's an occasional treat, not a daily meal. The price is in indication of that too. KFC and others do meals that are almost your daily allowance in one go.

There used to be. It was the nearest food place to my office in Coventry and we'd often have our quarterly social there. They used to do quite a few veggie mains but it's mostly down to veggie burger, fajita (deconstructed style), salad and mac n cheese. They even took the gumbo off the menu...

    Parking in Stafford.

The "no return in 1 hour" rule is the most stupid one. Suppose you leave the car park then realise you've forgotten to buy something or lost something in the store. You go back in and boom, £70 fine.

    Guildhall closure?

They build more houses than road capacity and parking. The buses are useless and so nobody wants to try to get to the shops.

House prices - what is wrong with this place?

Perhaps that's fallen somehow then, as my figure was for 2023.

    It's actually £34,963 now.

Friend who works for GE has said it's been a pretty bad 2023 in terms of output. Quite a few things going wrong, failing tests.

Generally speaking, wages gets paid based upon the cost of living in a country. So while property is cheaper in some countries, the wages are lower too. Take Japan for instance, Japanese families have small homes and if they moved to the west they'd be quite wealthy. Of course, in some jobs you...

Widening the road from the roundabout to the cross roads to be a dual carriageway. Install the lights. Cables need laying under the ground etc. It's much faster if you can close the road off but I'm sure it will have to stay open.

    RIP St. Leonard's - English Electric/GEC Measurements/M.R.I/Alstom.

Major structural damage then. For mine there was no mention of brickwork cracks and when I redid my kitchen I found the gas boiler fitter had filled the hole in the wall badly. A breeze block, some newspaper and filler. When I removed that and saw the outer wall (house has cavity walls) I could...

Probably after they had given it a spin?

Well, I do wonder what the mortgage surveyors actually do. I think they turn up and check if there's a house there and if it looks like it's about to fall down. If not they write the value of the house as paid on the valuation. I'm sure they mentioned mine was in need of modernisation, you don't...

Cars have been getting bigger. The VW Polo became the size of a Golf. Look at what a Toyota Yaris is these days, much larger than before.
