Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

That article is very misleading. For example, I had a 'faulty' smart meter with a certain supplier, that supposedly wouldn't send readings. Amazingly, when I switched suppliers it started working correctly. For the majority of cases, the fault lies with the energy supplier not the meter; quite...

Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

    1. If I was a betting person, and if my experience with British Gas is anything to go by, I'd bet that the fault lies with British Gas and not the meters. 2. If you are finding reading the meters manually an issue, ask them to put you on the Priority Services Register and ask them to read your...

    butlers bell re opened

Because I've tried it (quite a long time ago) and, in my opinion, it is the worst excuse for beer I've ever tried. Clearly there are plenty of people that disagree with my view; either that or they are taken in by the hype.

I don't class Doom Bar as a beer. I'd be wary of any pub that sells Doom Bar and if it's the only one on, I'd walk straight back out.

    Guildhall closure?

The Borough Council seem to have two primary targets, reducing the size of the 'spread out' shopping area and increasing numbers (of people) in the town centre. One, they recognise that the previous Council spread the shopping area over too great a part of the town centre. The focus now, for...

    Parking in Stafford.

It states that you can ask instore for longer than the 2 hours. If that's correct, then there is nothing lost by asking retrospectively. If it's not correct, then the signage is incorrect and incorrect signage is grounds for challenging the charge.

Ever met anyone famous unexpectedly and in an unusual location!?!

In 1999 I travelled down to Cornwall for the total solar eclipse and I had to change trains at Truro. My heart sank at the prospects for decent weather for the eclipse when, in the queue for the Falmouth train, I found myself standing next to Michael Fish. I have a strange tendency to bump...

    Parking in Stafford.

Yes, but if you ask now and they say they can't do it anymore (as has been stated earlier in this thread), then the signage is incorrect and that in itself can be a basis to contest the charge.

    Parking in Stafford.

This is the current sign (taken half an hour ago). Might be worth asking at the Customer Service desk. If they say they can't do it anymore, then that would form the basis of an appeal, i.e. incorrect signage.
