I thought you were meant to do it on the 27th?
I thought that as well , but as it let me do it I wanted to get it out of the way before the form got lost in one of my clearouts.

Don't fancy being locked up for not returning it!

Is that a Moomin?
Lets all go stay at florence's house on the 27th...Theres not that many people on teh forum right?

I wanted to put dow Sith or possibly Pastafarian as my religion as Jedi had so much luck last time, but Hubby says that if you are silly on the census form they can prosecute you :0

Done on-line. Tremendous fun. Waste of paper - why not give the option before sending all the 'litter tray liner' out. (joshua ;) )

Were there many prosecutions a decade ago?

One would have thought that there might be sufficient data in government hands already to come up with most, if not all, of the information that the census requires, if they just put it together. Pensions, council tax, schools, income tax, social security, DVLA, etc, etc....

One of the questions was 'How many vehicles do you have?' There wasn't a box for 'You already know'.....

There was an interesting (sort of) article on the census in yesterdays Grauniad,

Will it be the return of the Jedi?

which states
despite the threat of a £1,000 fine for not completing the census form, we simply don't bother: an estimated 3 million people didn't last time.
but doesn't say how many prosecutions there were.
From another forum (not sure where it came from though!)

6% of people did not return their forms from the 2001 census with 38 being prosecuted and fined. "The 38 successful prosecutions resulted in fines ranging from £35-£500 plus costs in most cases".
There are loads of websites saying that if you say a fake religion it actually just counts as religious, and therefore affects the number of faith schools etc. Not sure how this works, as surely me putting 'Muslim Jihad Extremist' shouldn't be able to influence the number of catholic schools? Regardless, I'm a Pastafarian this month.

Also, if I stay over at someones house that night do I still have to fill mine in? I can imagine my one from last time (if I'd done it). Overnight visitors: Yes, no name taken but brunette, late teens.... :strange:

Did it say vehicles or cars? Didn't notice any mention of motorcycles.

Question H14 - "cars or vans". Motorcycles seem to be irrelevant.

What about mobility vehicles. I thought that may be one they would want for planning and pavement accidents?

I understand that the data is to be processed by Lockheed Martin and, as an American company, they will be obliged to hand over any data that the American government decides that it requires...

I was surprised to see no mention of part time students- apparently only full time students count when it comes to deciding future fees and funding.

For all the people who have already done their Census.

I hope there's not a problem and a friend has to stay over!
Or you get really off your face on Saturday night and don't find your way home til Monday!

Strange things CAN happen!

What happens about people who are in hospital? Even if most patients fill theirs in, what about the ones that are out for the count?..

My brother filled my parents census form in and sent it off a couple of weeks ago ,on the night when my dad was rushed into hospital very ill. My dad is still in hospital so may still be there on the 27th! :/
