You can borrow my cat if you like...not only is she doing my head in and meowing whilst I'm on the phone to customers, but she's also a ninja when it comes to catching rodents and other small animals/birds.

Here's a mole she brought in for me last week. Gimme a call if you want to hire her!

Well that is an excellent offer.. However my dog probably wouldn't like the cat, it would end up like one of those Tom and Jerry cartoon sketches where the dog gets involved aswell and then general mayhem would ensue...!

Thanks for the offer though!

Henryscat is STILL Picking up traffic/road use debates and totally disagreeing with at least 95% of people! Why?! No one agrees with you!
Just because lots of people say something doesn't mean it's right.....

I saw another side-effect of the lane closure yesterday. Someone pulled into it, parked up and was talking on their mobile phone.

At least they weren't driving with the phone glued to their earhole!

Any one of you could put in an Freedom of Information request to find out the real reasons before declaring it a waste of money....
I have put in a FOI request. As that junction has worked perfectly well for 30 odd years I can still confidently say it is a waste of money.

Would be interested in what the answer is.

Has John who mentioned he had put in a FOI request had a reply yet?

No. Quelle surprise...

Any public organisation you make an FoI request to is allowed up to 20 working days to respond.
On the eve of the eve of 20 real days, one can't help but wonder
a) what the answer will be, and
b) how many days there might be between real days and working ones.

I, for one, await with (a)bated breath.

Henryscat is not agreeing with 95% of the post because he works for the council.

If they stopped spending silly money of pointless tasks then maybe they could reduce our tax bill rather than "having" to use the money

That's a little unfair. The only disagreement henryscat has had, in this thread at least, is with people automatically assuming that there was no reasoning behind this change - which seems fair enough.

Whether people will agree on the reasoning once it is disclosed is another matter.

Well i don't remember a consultation process or did the council ask the views of the residents?????
The man makes a good point... come to think of it, apart from the W.A.R. has the council / highways ever consulted anyone on anything?

Lights at Asda roundabout anyone?
