3 Big Trees on The O.G.

Came home today to find what I assume is a photocopy of a hand written note, telling us to contact Stafford and Rural Homes to complain about the 3 large trees next to Jubilee Court, the old people's home at the back of the 80s - 120s.

As it is we don't have any issues with the trees, only that we were a bit annoyed they cut down the rest of them. We do have an issue that our garden is lacking in drainage since they replaced the surface covering, but that's it.

Anyone else on Oxford Gardens get one?

As the trees will only get bigger and block your daylight and sunshine even more ... The tree's [sic] have never been cut in 15 years, so they need to be done

Your garden may be lacking in drainage because some trees aren't there to use the water...

Living on a new (15 years old) estate, the thing I hate about the place is the lack of mature gardens...

We're currently looking at houses in Birmingham and I love the ones with big gardens and lots of mature trees and bushes to give privacy, character and landscape...

Yes, we did think that, it probably doesn't help that both gardens either side of us has paved over too...

If someone has gone to the effort (small effort though it is) to handwrite, photocopy and post this nonsense, then i fear the trees days are numbered, if they (said tree hater) don't get what they aim for, there's a good chance they'll get rid of them one way or another regardless.

It's tragic anyone cutting down a perfectly healthy tree.

...wherever you can, plant a tree.

How do I edit this?
Whoever it is, is clearly cross. We've had this today...I must admit I hadn't noticed an attempt at pruning, but then I hardly ever go out the back way.

I must admit I find the lack of any indication who it's from to be a bit creepy. Surely he or she could have squeezed a "Mavis at number 114" on the bottom to make the whole thing a bit less, well, threatening?

On a side note, someone stole a plant container from our front garden too...
Florence used to live nearby in the 'Lotus houses' and somebody stole a sundial for the back garden. Not much use to anybody, as it was a southern hemisphere sundial, however it ended up here, possibly the same perpetrator?

TPO?

Means something if you are not Bovis - could that be the reason why there are still 3 BIG TREES?

email trees@staffordbc.gov.uk with details of the location to find out if they are protected.

the three big trees have been there a lot longer than the wierd writer of notes has , they bought/rented thier house or flat with them standing proud and knew what they were getting so i say tell them to naff off and get a life!
to many poeple do this sort of thing and it doesnt just involve trees , pubs clubs and entertainmant places all come under the scrutiny of these selfish nut cases.
rant over.

I had cause to venture along the backs today, returning from a Trumpet carvery, and investigated the 'three big trees' - which I must assume are these three. Hardly even worthy of the adjective 'big', I think. They seem to have had a few bits removed recently and the scale of the trees that are left hardly seems worthy of comment, much less the excitement that they seem to be generating in some quarters.

that letter seems quite threatening. i like the way the person who has wrote it has made extra effort to put some words in bold. kinda makes me feel a bit sad for the trees really. bet the trees were there before the writer

The trees look beautiful and furthermore, ensure that residents are looking out on 3 BIG TREES instead of what looks from Gramaisc's link, to be a building site. My sympathies lie with the trees. Particularly as some have already been sacrificed to provide paper for someone who misuses an apostrophe.

That picture is a few years old. It's Jubilee Court old folks compound now - I don't think that the inmates are too rowdy, on the whole..

I'd still rather look at a tree than stare at old people. I can do without any unnecessary foretaste of my future. Though I must admit, I did wonder about getting my name down early for Sister Dora's. It would be fab to live right on the Chase and comforting to know that there would always be ice cream.
