I recall a thread similar to this some while ago but with the unveiling of the new forum thought it would be interesting to find out why people have chosen the names or avatars they have. Some like mine are more obvious than others (although Disney fans will have spotted the deliberate error) whilst others are more obscure.

I did have one of me at age 66, but thought that it might put the dolly birds off, so
I changed it to one of me a just a bit younger

I collect pocket dragons and they are better looking than me lol. I'm Gadget 'cause i love, gadgets, tools etc.

I actually never owned a Vespa.
Vespa is the italian name for Wasp and I took that name when
I was a member of the Dutch/International gaming Squad "WASP Squad".
Although not a member of that Squad anymore, the name stuck.

Mine's the 1 I have on Facebook,the youngest thought it would be funny to 'frape' me,and change my picture. I liked it so much I kept it,and decided use it on here too.

How do I edit this?
I'm fair haired and in my younger days I wore my hair at waist length. I discovered after we left school that people had been calling me "Goldilocks" behind my back for years. I found this fairly amusing given the things I was called to my face during my school days & I actually rather liked the moniker. I use it as my identity on a number of internet forums, and spelled it with an X because the correct spelling was already taken on the first one I joined, and I hoped it might stop people mistaking me for a girl (it hasn't).

My new avatar is a photo of me that was hanging in the pie and ale house for several months after the photographic competition - I chose to use it as my avatar as a memorial to the PandA

I think mine is fairly obvious, I have dragged the subject of rats into conversation way more than is necessary!
The picture is of Austin Powers, who is considerably fatter now....
